Same as anywhere else ..
A large International Company like Canon would typically pay it's main product experienced sales staff 25k - 35k (40k exceptionally) basic plus commission.
OTE would be about 35k - 60k up. There might be the odd 'headline grabbing' super-sales staff earning up to 100k or more ..
You could well be offered 18-25k if you applied for a trainee position ..

There are several online salary calculators that might have information about sales positions in technology companies, but as far as I'm aware payscale.com is the only one which actually breaks it down by company.
With payscale.com, I would have several questions as to how accurate the data is:
- Is it up to date?
- Because the data has only been submitted by a small number of people, it's possible that it could be very skewed
- As a sales rep, a large percentage of your salary is your bonus ... but are the people who have submitted information to payscale.com including this, or are they talking base only? And anyway how achievable are the targets, which would determine how much of a bonus you'd get?
- Are other benefits taken into account? Having a car allowance can make a massive difference in some countries
Despite the inaccuracy though, I'm thinking that it might be your best bet. Anyone who knows for sure, such as someone who works in HR, isn't going to tell you. And even if you have friends there that you can ask, you're only getting one or two individual's perspectives, and could be that they're at either end of the range rather than being average.
