a lady from the collection agency hired by capital one told me they are putting a lean against my personal property and that they are going to garnish my wages and that they are going to send some paper work to my boss...can they do that in NJ? i have told them over and over not to call me at work but even when they say they dont call me at work, i have a co worker calling me and saying that the law firm was looking for me. i think hiring a lawyer is going to cost me more that my balance and im not sure what to do. can anyone help? please?

I am really interested in buying a 2 bedroom condo/townhouse in ca pennisula. The problem is 2 bedroom condos in my area are listing at about $350K. My credit score is 718. I have aprox $30k to put as a down payment. My monthly income is $4505 and I have practically no debt. (about $300 on my credit cards).
I realize that my monthly payment would end being about 50% of my income. I am planning on getting a roomate to help with monthly payments but am single and would be applying for a loan by myself. Is there a way to qualify for a loan without a cosigner/coborrower.

It was a startup company which I was offered equity in. Several initial expense reports were paid but then we had a show which all of the charges were on my card and they never reimbursed me before going out of business. The amount of $100,000 is well more than I am capable or willing to pay back! I would sue but I don't believe they have any money or assets!!! What can I do? Declare Bankruptcy???

I read that if you dont get a business license and you run an at home based business and your neighbors dont complain about your work, its unlikey the IRS will find out and make you pay a fee as well as put your business on hold until its done. Now, in the state of FL, if I chose to not get a license because the type of business (event planning) did not require one, would I still have to pay taxes?

Hi I just wanted to know - I have just given my notice from my job and leave at the end of the month. I have only been with this company for 3months and have been off sick about 8 days (mostly due to a miscarriage and bad migraines).. I wanted to know if there is anything they can do about it? Would they ask me for money back from my salary?i got paid a couple days ago, so i am not worried about the money but can they go ahead and take money out of my account because i have taken too many days off work? If i take another one can they fire me before my 2 weeks notice is up and claim the money back they have paid me?

I'm 26, and my company recently moved into a new bldg that has some finishing work that still needs to be done, so there are a lot of painters, construction workers, etc around. There are a few that have been on my floor regularly, and I have been friendly to them by smiling and saying good morning, stuff like that. I have noticed when I walk by they speak in Spanish to each other and laugh and check me out. I know they are saying suggestive things. Anyway, today I was going to lunch and one of the workers said, "Are you going to help me work today?" I just smiled as I went to my car and he said, "YOu know I'll work you! I'll work you hard!" Then walked away laughing. I was disgusted. I don't want to get anyone fired, but should I bring this up? I feel like they'll tell me I'm asking for it since I often wear heels and things. But I have in no way flirted with them or anything.

My lease started in November of 2006. October 12, 2007 my place became condemed when the state inspector came out and inspected my mobile home. He found numerous things wrong with the place, some that was a safety issue between life and death. There was faulty wire on the outside that was used and was only was supposed to be used inside and not underground. The vent to the dryer was left directory under the mobilehome, it had nowhere to go except under the home which was building up on the wires under the home. It also had lots of water damage and the place was sinking. I didn't know all of this moving in as a single mother, I just thought that people were suppose to do the right thing. He has refused to give back any deposits and I had to get out and nowhere to go. I was told by the inspector that the landlord put my life and my daughters life in danger intengenally. my company is relocating and i've only been there for a year, ive been sent a package that says i will be entitled to 25% of my annual pay. also a girl who has only been there for 6 months is also gettin this package. but ive lookied on the net and it says u have to work a minumum of 2 yrs to be entitled to redundancy pay. i questioned the manager and she said they are offering so much because then people will leave and then they will have to train completley new people for a few months till they close and they cant waste their time doing that. im i being taken for a ride and hanging around for nothing?

I went for 2 interviews for a great job last month and they called me back to take a drug test and criminal background check and that was two weeks ago. I called them friday to follow up and see what was going on and they said they just recieved all my info back on the criminal check and they were currently proccesing everything and I would hopefully hear something in the next few days.

What the heck is going on, are they just spending all of this money time on me for the heck of it or do you think that they are going to hire me but are taking their time about it.

BTW this is for a state owned institution
