I was laid off a month or so ago, I started collecting unemployment. I found a temp job to make more money but I'm very unhappy there. If I quit the temp job can I still collect unemployement?

As long as you are reporting the wages to U.I. it is legal to work and still collect unemployment. If the wages being earned fall in the range that keeps you eligible for benefits.

If you quit your temp. job they may close your claim as you quit the job and were not laid off. I would call up your local office and ask them a general question without giving your name and personal information to them.

Ask the unemployment comp people, since it depends on your state's laws. If you quit the temp job though, it's very possible you won't be able to go back on unemployment comp.

You cannot collect unemployment while working, even if it is only a temp job. If they find out that you have been earning wages you will be required to pay back what they have paid to you.

Your unemployment will stop at the date you started your temp job. if you quit you will need to mre-apply based on your temp job info; however, it is likely that you will not be approved.

its tough to quit a job and collect ei unless you have just cause for quitting, or if the job is making you sick.

Just cause can be they are sexually harassing you, making you work in unsafe conditions, making you work continually without breaks and so forth. You need to call the EI office and
find out if you can quit in your scenario. Yeah...ASK a GENERAL question..don't give your name!!!!!
