i've been at a job for about a month now that i totally hate. it only pays $450/week as a base and they gave me no accounts to sell to get a commission to make more than $450. i've been busting my rear for a month now trying to get a sale ( it's radio advertising sales ) and haven't had a sale yet.

it's an expensive product to sell. the minimum program is going to be like $2,000.00 and i have to sell AT least $70,000 per month to make say $800/week.

anyway, since i'm making like no money i simply can't afford to work there. should i quit and focus my efforts on getting another job or should i continue with the job and try to sneak some interviews during the day?

Ok... as if things weren't complicated enough... my mom just recieved a letter telling her she is being audited because she has some unreported income. The problem is she doesn't know where the over 50.000 came from all we have is Acct. numbers that match her ss# she was told to go to the local SSA to verify that the ss# issued to her was solely hers and she did, then she was told to go to the bank and obtain a letter stating this acct. either does or doesn't belong to her. The problem is the bank will not give her any info unless she knows the name on this acct; that has her ss#. Is there anything she can or should do?

My Capitol One Platinum card's rate just went up 10 points for no reason at all (they said they did it to everyone). I would like to get a new card but it's been a while since I had to do this and I'm trying to avoid the bait-and-switch interest rate tricks they play. If I apply for a Platinum card that advertises, say 7.9%, then they send me a different card that has a higher rate, can I cancel it before using it without hurting my credit score?

I quit my retail position and gave 2 weeks notice. The store manager has refused to mail me my final check and says that I must pick it up in person. She has mailed other people's checks after they left (even though it takes her months). My paycheck is sent to the store in a sealed envelope with my address pre-printed on in. Is is legal for her to refuse to send it?

ok, so I have been filing my taxes through H&R block the last few years. I previously owned my own company. I now have a few different business, but I know nothing about taxes. I was told to always keep ALL my receipts.

Do I get a bigger refund for reporting all my expences? or does that make my earned income credit lower?

Well...these credit line questions are all over, but I need a little more clarification. I just got notification that my citicard account is able to be increased from $10,000 to $12,000. I currently have $1,000 balance on the card and will pay that off by the end of the year. I use my card only about 6-8 times a year for big purchases, (plasma's, surround sound, computers, etc.) and I pay off the card within a couple months after. What are the pros and cons of increasing my limit, and what would be in the best interest of my credit score, and the ability for me in the future to get good rates for home loans, car loans, etc.

When a married couple lives in a state with no income taxes, they are allowed to deduct sales tax. If the couple paid $1560 in sales tax on a $26000 car and another car had state sales tax of $1800. Are the state sales taxes deductible on Schedule A? If yes, all of them, and do you list it under personal property taxes or under other taxes and write in state sales tax? Thanks, Tim

I live in Australia and am currently renting in Melbourne which is $780 a month and my lease is not up until April 27, 2008.
My Nana just died and I need to move so I can see more of my grandfather and to help out.

I am really desperate to get out of where I am but am unsure of how much it will cost me to cancel my lease early. Can anyone tell me anthing about the process I will have to go through to get out and how much it would cost. I need to be out as soon as possible because I am miserable where I am.

Ok, I need to ask this again, and add some info to it. My husband is on long term disability, so he doesn't get taxed, but still has to report it on his taxes. He owes from last return, but how do i file if I don't want to pay his taxes, but I want to inlcude him because the refund would be bigger if he is on it, we claim 2 kids, and a house. I fugured with just my income being taxable, our refund would be more but i don't want to file with him if there is a chance they will snatch mine for his debt.

I live with 2 girls, both of whom I've been friends with since freshman year. I am sharing a room with roommate A which works out great. She's almost never here (she stays at her boyfriend's) , is going abroad next semester and is one of my really close friends. Roommate B, however, is the problem. She has a lot of health issues, mental and some physical. She does not do her share around the apartment, but acts like she does. Whenever she is called out on this, she loses her mind. She starts yelling and accusing us of not doing our part. Roommate A, who is not here often, does more than her share whenever she is here. She and I even clean up after Roommate B because we are tired of her messes. We don't even really talk to her anymore outside of our apartment because the relationship is so strained. Finally this weekend I became ill and couldn't clean up. Well she didn't either. I left a note about it and she went nuts. What should I do about this?

Heres whats going on - I've been looking for work for a while now. I have an interview Monday. The job pays around $6 an hour currently with no benefits.

I got referred to them by a former employer. I left the interviewer a message saying taking into consideration that the job had no benefits & they are quite important to me, that I didn't think it would be the right job for me (with low pay & no benefits I feel like I would have to move on sooner or later). She called me back today and said they are 'trying' to get medical insurance set up, did have it at one time previously.

If the insurance for my family was provided by them it would be an easier decision. But if I have to pay out of my pocket on such little pay, I don't see how it would be worth it.

What do you think? This is a job I would enjoy doing, but with the medical history my extended family has I'm afraid to go without insurance - I'm healthy now, but young, what if something major comes along later in life.

I applied for a great job and have had two interviews, had all my refrences checked, my college transcripts checked and now they just had me to take a drug test and sign for a criminal background check and said that the background check ussually takes 1 1/2 - 2 weeks and that they would be in touch.

Thats all they said, they never said I was hired or would be hired if everything comes out good they just said we'll be in touch.

What should I think of this, and is this a really good sign that they will probably hire me and just want to make sure everything is good before making a offer?
