If I had a trust fund and had taken a position in Marketing just to meet women with great bodies and loose morals, I'd tell my boss that I stood on principle.
If not, and my child needed braces, I'd grit my teeth and do the best job I could, just like those Ministers that tell their radio audience that their floor number on the Heavenly Condo is directly proportional to the amount they send to the station; fools and their money are soon parted, and they might as well part it my way.

I would try to find a reason to believe in it, but if I couldn't do that I would market it the best I could because you may not be able to eat if you don't market it well, and the people that are looking at it are interested in it.

Well, since marketing is the "dark art" of business, market it anyway. If you're in the marketing field, it's your job to make people like something whether you believe in it or not. It's not your job to like it - it's your job to make other people like it.
I realize this sounds a bit blunt, and perhaps harsh, but I'm being realistic. If you want to believe in a product, be a consumer. If you want to sell something, market it.
