I had issues with the landlord, We called city inspector to get repairs done, which resulted huge expense for landlord. He is now mad at us and won't give us the money back. We are planning leagal means and trying to recover my deposit money(around $1000) back.

We were so fed up by this ordeal that we finally built own house and moved into it after vacating. Probably I wont get my money back, as I do not have pictures taken before moving in. My concern is the landlord may have ties with gangs and may try to damage our brand new house if we expose the address to them.

Question: Should I expose my new address in my letter currently being sent to them as final notice asking the money? Or should I rent a PO Box and use that? Since I have address forwarding, I may ask them to send the check to the old address (their house)? How about in subsequent legal proceedings? I like the PO Box option best, but do not want to incur the expense if it can be avoided.

I notifyied my employer that I would be leaving my position at their company. This guy is such a mis-manager that he had me 1) place ads for my job position, 2) screen applicants, and 3) expects me to tag-team in interviewing candidates. Eventually, I will be training the chosen person, which I have no problem with. But I do not feel comfortable with being in on the interview sessions with these candidates. He is so used to having things done for him, or being constantly reminding of his responsibilities, I feel that he is just asking me to shoulder the decision-making in this process. Is this a viable concern?

Is this a far-fetched scenario?? Critics of America (and by extension, capitalism) always cite how Spain and ancient Rome were once dominant and that America is headed for collapse ... Your comments are appreciated. Thanks

My sister-in-law had to transfer her deed (land) while incarcerated to her mother so her mother could put up the property to get her out of jail (bond). While in jail the second time, her mother, unknowingly to her, sells her deed (land) to another person (she hasn't been to court yet for the first offense). After she was released, she went home to find that this person has removed items from her double-wide and started tearing down things, and is telling her that he intends to have her locked up for tresspassing and various other allegations. Is this legal? The mobile home wasn't on the deed (only the land and an out-building) Could her mother legally sell this property while it is tied up with the court system?

Hello! I just had an interview on Wednesday at a restaurant. The interview only lasted about 10 minutes and he told me that he wanted to schedule me for a second interview. But when he came back, the schedule was apparently "full" and the GM is out of town. I have sent out my thank you letter. Is this enough or is there anything else I need to do to score this second interview? Should I also call them after a week? I need your professional advice and opinion! Thank you!

I recently left my employment and I have to pay them back for some courses that I took over the summer. They want to take my last paycheck after taxes has been deducted from it and apply towards the amount I owe for the tuition. I live in the state of New York and my brother-in-law told me that what they are doing might be considered "theft" since they can deduct taxes from that last paycheck and take it from me. He said if they are going to take taxes then possibly to legal reasons they are obliged to hand that last paycheck to me. Does anyone know about this? If this is true, then I can file a complaint with the state's board of labor.

I have been asked by a corporation to interview with one of their senior level managers at their home office which would be all expense paid by the company. This would be the final step in the interview process. I first interviewed by phone, then interviewed locally with a person from the company and was told that the finalist would go to their home office for the final interview, which is me, so what I am wanting to know is that in most peoples experience is this a good sign that I am being strongly considered for the job and most likely going to get the job?
