When trying to figure out the 30% of income on housing, what constitutes housing? Mortgage payment? Plus insurance and taxes, I presume, but plus water and utilities? I'm trying to figure out if I'm still in good financial shape, and perhaps buying a bigger house.

i want to get a job as a server but i'm not sure which restuarant to apply too. i want to know where you get the most tips. i'm having a hard time deciding if i should go with a fancier restuarant like olive garden or instead something like applebees where the food is less expensive so people would tip more. anyone that is or has been a server or that knows a good restuarant to work at please let me know. Thank you

I recently decorated my front room and moved the television into the kitchen onto my old kitchen table, The table leg broke with the weight dropped the tv and smashed the front screen, i rang my insurance company and they put me to a representitive, as he was too busy to deal with my claim he put me off for 3 days, in the meantime as i have pets in the house ( Labrador Retriever ) i was concerned of leaving it in the house so i took it to my yard and left it outside, When the rep rang back he told me due to the fact that i took the t.v outside i was unable to make a claim, Is there anything i can do or should just forget about it?

I called him and left a message with his secretary to give us a call. He emailed us a house that he thought we might like (never mentioned the fact that we called). So I emailed him back saying that we would like to see another house, while we were at it we would look at his recommendation 2. I told him times that were were available for both sat and sun.
He replied, that he was in contact with their agents, and would email with confirmation. Well less than 4 hours b/4 we are set to see the houses, we hadn't heard a thing. Then he contacts us, and one of the houses doesn't want a sunday viewing. Why would he tell us that time, if we couldn't see the house we wanted? He is gone this week, and thanksgiving is next weekend. Which means we can't see the house for another 9 days.
What can we do? He has been our agent for months, and has done small things similar to this in the past. Nothing big though. What are our options? We want to see it, but he wont get comission.

I have a first mortgage that is my home and a second that is a timeshare that I purchased. I recently purchased a boat and am wondering if I can write that off as well. Someone told me that I can only write off two mortgages. My question is whether or not I can write off the boat payments as well or is it just best that I pay it off and not pay the interest. Thanks for any help.

I know that the MRI places can charge $15-1600 or more and that the insurance companies don't pay that much. What do insurance companies pay?

And if you don't have insurance, how much do you pay the MRI place?

Ok, so I am in college out-of-state. I brought my debit card with me from home. I used to online banking to watch my balances, which i thought I still had $50 left on the card because that was the most recent balance. Then I overcharged the account and I have close to $150 in charges, which is a lot to me and I really can't afford that. But you see, they sent a letter to my home but of course I never got it because im in school, and my parents did not open it until a week after. Anyway to get my charges back? Since I personally had no way to know of it.

In the past, American business was based on honesty, hard work, truth, good products, honest living, etc. I know.....not everyone has done this but, by and large, it was the historic norm (nay sayers to the contrary). However, nowadays, USA business is based upon lies, cheat, butt kissing, theft, game playing (one of the biggest being the "be positive" game), office politics, etc. My God, no wonder people are beginning to think (wrongly so) that socialism is better (although that is silly to think). Still, American business thrives (Business 98 remedial here) on a few hard workers whom fear for their jobs daily (I was there amongst many) whilst the majority are lazy dirty dogs (employees whom steal, lie, etc. and employers whom want you to have 5 Ph.D.s, 30 yrs. experiece, an MD with Speciality and not be over 40). What has happened? I can see the deadly result of Evolutionary Capitalism (versus Bible Based living that used to be....but now decried). But, what else is it?

Since the IT field is not the same as it once was around 1999, what fields should I consider going into? I am sick of the games in the IT field especially with job recruiters and their jive. I pretty much had my heart set on a career in IT until it dried up. At 35, I feel lost. Should I go back to grad school and accumulate more debt?

Have used my credit card at different places and they want to charge 3-4% more on the bill because I didn't pay cash, and they told me that if I used cash they wouldn't charge this extra but that the credit card people charge them. My wife and I have had small businesses in the past and never charged people to use there credit cards as to me that is part of doing business and that is for my tax people to figure out at tax time. Also by accepting credit cards we figured that it increased our business. I can remember when Master Card was first on the market We were told we could not pass this charge on to the customers as against the law because that was one of the obsticals for them to convince businesses to take on there card.
It just seems to me that this is becoming a more excepted practice and I would like to know what can be done if this is against the law?
thanks DG
