I paid off all my credit-cards, now what should be my next goal: Pay off my car or start a rainy day fund?

The way I put miles on cars by the time pay it off Ill have to turn around and get another one so Ill never be without a car payment.

Or I can create a savings account (I have a 401K but its not liquid & neither is a paid-off car). But, of course, it won't earn enough money as I would save on the interest I pay on my car note.

Just curious: What do you think?

Four years ago my Dad died and left his assets to 6 children through a trust in the state of ARkansas. The majority of assets were distributed the first 2 years. One piece of land remains that is seemingly land-locked--the adjacent neighbor will not allow access, and none of us can found the legal access road to the land. Our attorney will not help...it seems he just wants to continue to draw out this trust. My sister, the trustee, lives 350 miles away, and chooses to do nothing...HOW CAN WE GET THIS TRUST FINISHED? I am concerned that 10 years from now I will be paying attorney fees to pay the property taxes on this land.

Please give me a direction to get started.

what are the fees associated with excercising the PUT and an approximate $ amount for say 5 PUT contracts with the underlying trading at $50 vs selling the options without excercising them. Can these be done as internet trades or do they require a broker's assistance? I currently trade stocks on the internet without broker assistance.

Thanks.

I have two loans- 441,000.00 and 77,000.00. House is only worth about 520,000.00. I need to get out of it asap. Can I offer the lender of the second mortgage some money to get out of it before I do a short sale on the first? I was thinking about $1000 to $5000. Thanks! I need all the answers I can get.

I already have a job, but the position does not offer me benefits, and there is an extremely small chance of advancement. I could move laterally, but upward mobility is highly unlikely.

I know the obvious things like not conducting the job search using the company computers, don't save the materials onto the computer at work, conduct phone calls discreetly or outside, don't give the contact info as your work email/number, try to take time off or be discreet if interviewing, etc. Any other hints?

I had a babysitter who gave me an incorrect SS#. I am trying to sort this out so I can file the forms to the IRS. She told me that she was going to claim it under self-employment income but now I don't know if that's true b/c the SS# doesn't belong to her and I heard from the family who employed her before me that she was receiving social security and asked them to pay her in cash. I paid by check but now I don't know how to report this.

My checkbook was recently stolen and before I could close my account, dozens of checks were written. I am in the process of clearing up this mess, but in the meantime my old checking account is frozen, overdrawn, and closed to further activity.

I was able to open a new account after I explained the problem, even though ChexSystems had me in their system as having a ton of bounced checks.

Will I be able to write checks to stores that use check verification systems? Or, even though I have a new account number at a different bank, will they cross-reference my name/driver's license number/phone number and not take my checks?

Ok, so I started a job as a Food Service Supervisor at a Hospital about 6 months ago. I started off supervising the trayline and the union workers suck. I was moved to the production side of things working with a chef that has no idea what he's doing. My boss is expecting me to be creative and develop my job, while doing all the extra projects she may need done. Along with doing what the chef asks me to do and if they need to use me back over on trayline, she can change my schedule at any time. Over the past couple months I haven't even had a set schedule. Sometimes I have to be in as early at 5:30 am and other days not till 9am, its messing up my sleep cycle. I'm miserable and now feel stuck, cuz I am not getting paid for the added responsibilities.
I make about 36K and benefits are good. But, I did a salary search for Production Supervisors in Food Service at Hospitals with 500+ beds and I should be making at least 50K.
What gives???

What would you do?
