Do you think that OSHA is an intrusive force that an employer is forced to deal with, or is it a positive force that enables employees to ensure that they are working in a safe environment?

Employers consider them intrusive because they see people as expendable .
When one drops , there is another to take their place and they only use safety protocols if forced to .

It is positive for employees as they are the ones in the danger zones ( not the stockholders and CEOs ) .
No stockholders or suits are ever trapped in a mine underground .

Soooo ,
It depends where your loyalty lies . . .
If you think people are kleenex to be used and tossed , OSHA is intrusive .
If you are more people oriented , they are beneficial .

I am assuming you have never worked in the auto industry before. OSHA is incredibly important, the standards set forth by OSHA protect employees. A good example of this is a material safety data sheet. Trust me you would want to read one of these before using chemicals like sulfuric acid to clean a drain or operating large machinery such as die presses or injection molding equipment.

Someone has to devise rules for safety. They are so understaffed, chances are rare your employer will ever see them.
