Ok, so I am in college out-of-state. I brought my debit card with me from home. I used to online banking to watch my balances, which i thought I still had $50 left on the card because that was the most recent balance. Then I overcharged the account and I have close to $150 in charges, which is a lot to me and I really can't afford that. But you see, they sent a letter to my home but of course I never got it because im in school, and my parents did not open it until a week after. Anyway to get my charges back? Since I personally had no way to know of it.

Probably not. Technically, you should have given the bank "change of address" information when you went off to school (to minimize the possibility of fraud).

Sorry!

It's your fault you overdrafted your account. Instead of looking at the balance on the ATM receipt or the online balance, you should maintain a check register and track your debit and check transactions. Even in this high tech age, some transactions don't show up on the bank's computer's for several days.

Not getting the notice is completely immaterial since that too is your fault.
