well paying computer jobs?

Question

i'm 17 going to college next year
i think i'm going for web design
and graphic design
since its an average of 50k for each career
so with both i could maybe score a higher paying job

but also wondering
if anyone knows of computer design or web jobs
paying over 50k

and weather i should start my own bussin63461813es
or try and score a job somewhere ?

Whilst there are indeed many well paying computer jobs, the salary you are aiming at is paid only to those with years of experience and those recognised as 'experts' in their field.

A Graduate / Junior programmer might start on as low as £17-18k today .. reaching £25k after 2-3 years experience.

Top guy I worked with had a Ph.D, 2 Patents to his name and 20 years experience and was being paid about 40k in Bristol with a small specialist software company . ..

I also have a friend with only 15 years experience working at a major Bank in City of London who is being paid 60k+ ..

SO == it all depends - you have to be with the right Company doing the right job..

In terms of well paying, Finance seems to be the big one.

I work in finance, so I tend to be partial to it (Hey, I admit it) But when I look at the salaries of programmers in the other industries, finance tends to pay a LOT more than the rest of them.
