My credit is poor because of trying to replace my losses due to Hurricane Katrina, & I haven't been able to find a job since, & people say my bad credit is all & only my fault. I receive SSI & Social Security, & I'm disabled, so how is it MY fault that I can't get a job?

Or should I rather ask, what's a good way to be assertive to your boss without causing a conflict? If I feel as thought I'm being treated unfairly, how do I say no and express my reasoning? I work in a restuaruant and when there is no one on schedule whose only assigned to clean up the lobby, I'm usually the only one who is picked to do it. I think it's a personal issue or because I'm a guy. I remember recently I clocked out and I stayed 30 minutes over my schedule doing someone else's job. The lobby looked a mess and my boss came in and "told (not asked)" me to clock back in and get the lobby cleaned. Now keep in mind my shift is over, so the lobby is the third shifts problem. I had things to do and I was already late for a rehearsal, so I finally worked up a nerve to tell her I had to go.

I have been working for a company close to a year now, full time but as a temp. I am not working through a temp agency so I do not have any benifits. I was just wondering if there is anything that says when I should be getting benifits. Or maybe even a law somewhere that could help me understand why i have no benifits.

I'm 16 years old and I have a part-time job. 6 months ago, my dad quit his job in the hopes of making it big in one of his business ventures. Now, he's needing more money to finance his business and he's asking me to lend him a grand. If I lend him the money, there will be next to nothing in my bank account. He's my dad so I don't know what to do.

Help.

I'm supposedly lucky to have my own place now since it's my chance to live on my own & alone. My credit is horrible, & I'm lucky to have a landlord who doesn't check credit. But why do we need good credit in order for a place to lay our heads? I'm considering moving next yr. to Los Angeles for a better living, but I'm afraid to be homeless again like I was in New York. Right now, I live in a small town with very limited transportation.

Comes around, how should I file? I have full custody of our 4 yr old daughter, he pays child support and has very limited supervised visitation. Our divorce will take a while, so I don't think it will be final by jan. or feb.
Shall I file as married filling sep, and claim my daughter? Or as head of household? Or is there a special cat. for separated people.
By the way, ex has agreed that I should claim her
Please help, I have no idea

This home has been for sale for the past two years, but hasn't sold because the realtor says it is not possible to move. It is an A frame building, 1700 sq feet. I am working with a very small budget (single income, five kids)and want to put it on a piece of property at minimal cost. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks for any information you can share.

I've always known I wanted to move to Chicago ever since I was little, but I'm a little nervous about how much money I would be spending. I will be graduating from high school in 2008 & would like to be free of living at home as soon as possible. How easy is it to get a good paying job & find a decent place to live? Please if you have any information that would be of help to me feel free to send me an email at Lizzay757@yahoo.com Thank you!!!

I recently had a collection charge, and quite a few past due payments. I have come up to date on the past due payments and will be able to pay off all I owe within 3-4 months on all the credit cards. Also I will be able to pay off the collection charge within a month.

I heard somewhere that I can negotiate with the collection agency for a payment for deletion for the collection account which would remove it from my credit report. Is this true?

I will be moving in about 8 months and my credit score ranges from 520-564 on the three reports and I need to get it up so that I will be able to move into another apartment. By paying all this off will my score increase enough by time I move?

I am not late on any utilities and have never been late paying rent, how will this also factor into getting a new apartment?

Since June I have been going back and forth with my landlord to repair our problems in the apartment. (will list below) I am in the end of a high risk pregnancy, I dont want to have to move because of this since my baby is due in November, but I dont know what type of lawyer or people I need to be talking to.

We have sent letters (registerd) with-held rent (put it in escrow) and complained... These problems are costing us a LOT of money and inconvience and they arent doing ANYTHING but coming up with excuse afer excuse on what 'could be' the problem...

So here are the issues:
For about 4 months now we have been going back and forth with our landlord to get our A/C unit in our apartment fixed.

here are the problems:
1. The central A/C unit does not work
2. The dishwasher spits up dirty nasty water up through the sink, and faucet
3. The tub in the bathroom leaks
4. The windows either dont open or they fall open and let bugs in
5. The closet doors keep falling off

The two programs I may complete are Radiation Therapy Technology, and Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Could someone tell me from their own knowledge about becoming registered after graduating the programs?

Basically, how long does it take, how do you prepare, and should you start working in the meantime?

Thanks! : )

i am thinking of buy a 2 br 2 bth townhouse in forida broward county is it a good time to buy or should i wait, the unit i am thinking of buy was selling for 225,000 in 2005 and now i am able to buy it for 180,000 considering that decline should i wait and watch price drop some more or should i just buy now because even if the price does drop on this unit and i wait i will still have to rent a place and that will cost me a min of 15,000 for the year so even if the price of the unit does drop i feel it will still be the same because i will be wasting money on rent. whats going on in the florida market are people buying or waiting , i really feel that the place i buy for 180,000 will not drop much more or is there a possiablty that the place i buy for 180,000 will only be worth 110,000 in a yrs time. please any advise will be helpful to me. thank you

I know this may seem like a silly question, but I need a credit card as a second form of ID to open an account at a video store. I also need a credit card to create an account with Microsoft Office Live (they need it to confirm my identity, I read all of the terms of use).

So my question is, if I apply and get approved for a credit card, once I receive it, am I obligated to make a purchase with it or can I simply just use it for the purposes stated above?

Is there a fee for receiving a credit card?

All information and sources are appriciated.

This is a "what if" scenario: I interview for a position that is located in a city that is 900 miles away. I get offered the position. When do you think they would expect me to start? I know that I would have to pack up and move. If they offer relocation assistance, would that effect the date of the first day on the job? What type of relocation assistance do most companies offer? What if you own a home that may take a long time to sell? Thanks in advance for as much information as possible!

Is it absolutely necessary to wear a suit with a jacket on an interview? If so, can the blouse be untucked and the jacket open? I can't stand the jacket. They are short and my stomach isn't flat. It makes me self-conscious and uncomfortable. Any ideas? Both would be neatly pressed. I am not a sloppy person.
