Is it hard to get a job as a mechanic w/o a degree nowadays like everything else?

Ill be 18, high school graduate, w/ about 25 credits and a little job experience towards working on cars; would that be enough to get a mechanic job in New Mexico or should I finish the associates degree?

Sorry for a stupid question, but I am new to this. When someone checks your credit history, can he see exactly what you are paying for {in case of a bad history what you didn't pay for} or he only get the info whether you have good or bad credit history?

I'm thinking of getting one built and I'm not sure how the heating and cooling will be? Will it be more expensive? Are they worth the money or are they more like manufactured homes? I want to know all of the pros and cons.. Thank you :)

My husband and I both need new cars. We have an average credit rating. Will the 1st car purchase (we will have a down pymnt) make it harder for the 2nd car loan (w/ $4000 down & trade in worth $8,000)? Do you need to wait a few months or could we purchase both in the same month?

My mother's friend owes $16,000 on a credit card and the bank has been charging her 30 percent interest. Eventually she just refused to pay.

After months of threats the bank relented and offered her a five-year plan to pay off the debt at six percent interest.

She says that will simply be paying back the bank its 30 percent (in the total accrued so far) over a longer time. Plus, she can hardly afford the $325 monthly payments.

Her debt is more than 10 years old and she's payed back so far more than twice what she borrowed on the card.

She offered the bank 10 percent to call the account settled but they scoffed. She wonders, given that they did finally quit threatening her and made her an offer, are they likely to soften further if she holds her ground and prepares for bankruptcy?

Would the bank be likely to accept a counter offer from her of their five-year-plan on a lesser total amount?

How much would the bank get if they wrote off the account and sold the debt?

I understand that employers do not pay Federal Income taxes for their 1099 contracted employees; does this mean that I cannot collect unemployment if I need it?

My last contracted work was a six month contract in the state of California.

The first is a full time employee, She is older than the other employee so she has more experence than the other. My problem with her is she complains about anything and everything and my other employees are tired of it. Plus she is not learning at the rate at which I previously thought she would.

The second is only part time and much younger, plus they're not as experienced, but they show great promise. My problem with him is they sometimes act childish and like to pull pranks and such.

Both are very hard workers, so this will not be an easy decision when the time comes to make it.

Me and 5 of my friends are moving into a house we a renting from a private landlord (he owns the house-we rent the whole thing) Previously it was a boarding house but he just bought it and we are his first tenants in this house ( he has another he rents out). There was garbage left in trash cans and NOTHING was cleaned previous to us taking possession of the house. What should we do? Some of the girls have already spent hours just cleaning their own rooms. Is it ok to ask for a months rent in compensation for cleaning the ENTIRE house? What should we do? Legally isn't he required to clean it?

My mother recently passed away and her and I have shared a home for 4 years. Both of us are listed as joint tenents with rights of survorship. She made a will 2 weeks before she died leaving her half to my sisters. They have retained a lawyer already, instead of coming to me. I have no knowledge of the law and I cannot afford a lawyer. I don't want to loose my home and I can't afford to buy them out.
