My former boss keeps BEGGING me to come back to my job because she feels like I was the only good asset to the company & the only one who did my job correctly. & she's trying to bribe me with higher pay & higher position, but I'm done with that job. It's nice money, but I don't care. I'm going back to school in the fall.

Is there anyway to develop credit besides getting a credit card? And how do you go about getting a credit card?

We own a 4-plex. It's a 100-year old house converted into 4 separate 1 bdrm apts. It can be profitable but needs some major work (windows, floor beams need to be jacked, electrical work, etc.) We live in one of the units but want to move closer to family. We were offered $95,000 for it a couple years ago. But realized we couldn't afford to move at the time. Should we keep it as a rental and use it as collateral to buy a duplex closer to family? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Where does the equity go in this situation:

Owner owes (mortgage): $102,000

Owner is asking:108,900

Home is worth: 120,000 (Appaisal)

buyer gives owner 108,900

What happens to the $18000 in equity? (120,000 - 102,000)

If the owner gets it, how do they get it? Cash?

I don't know too much about equity. I know what it is, but I don't know what happens with it. Is this cash in the owner's pocket or is it just used for their a new home purchase. Why do people have Home Equity loans?

the material that the tiles are join with is crumbling and cracking making the tiles loose. I think they didn't even put a sealant on them. Are we protected? do the last owners have to pay for fixing this? You can tell they did the flooring to sell the home and we haven't even been in the house for a month. What can we do? Do we have to pay? This was a job badly done. Thanks in advance.

They seem to sell it to someone new and then reage the debt. To begin with the debt is something that is not at all accurate. It was an electric bill from 4 years ago and my account was wrongfully transferred to someone's else's address after I moved out of state. (I didn't know) I had a balance on it but didn't pay because I found out they kept adding more to it from a wrong address. They didn't believe me that I was not living there. Now they have messed it up even more. How would I fight this in a validation letter to the Credit Bureaus? Do I say it's not mine because it's totally wrong or do I say it's mine but very innaccurate and listed twice?

I'm talking about those of us willing to work and don't whine about everything? where is this bad horrible economy??

BTW....More people are employed than ever before, stock market is making record after record, low inflation (even with gas prices) low interest rates, home ownership at all time records in USA, corporations making record profits, small businesses booming!.....Come on, this is the best economy in the history of USA...In the 90s that was mostly fluff from the DOTCOM crap , so don't even compare that to this! BUSH ROCKS!

My husband and I are trying to move and want to buy land to buy a home. We have enough for $8000 down but need to finance about $19000. We want to buy it now so that we can build on it at a later date (in around 6 mos to a year). We don't want anything with a balloon note or ARM. How long can we finance it for and at what %?

I am a finance student doing a project with a company's financial statements. I want to calculate Debt over assets.

My problem is that the company has listed its stock options that the executives may exercise in the future as debts in the annual statement. I know this is usually not on the balance sheet, but should I add these options in when calcuation the above ratio?

I would like to know what the rule is in both accounting and finance regarding if stock options are debt.

Several years ago one of my parents decided to add me onto their credit card as a joint holder. I'm only finding out about this now, because I'm reviewing one of my credit reports and see this account listed on my report.

I was totally unaware that I was even a joint holder on this account. Plus, I never see in the mail any statements from the Dillard's credit card either, so I was in the dark about all of this for several years. So far the account is in good standing and there haven't been any late payments or any of that, but still, I don't want to risk being on this joint account that I don't even use and don't even have a card for it, so I don't even know the numbers or expiration dates on the card.

Not that I don't trust my parent, but I don't want to take any risks. Is that even legal to have them put me on their credit card as a joint holder? I would have never agreed to do anything like this. How do I prevent something like this from happening again? They need my permission!

It's seems the seller market is at a slow this season. I have been considered renting my home out with option to buy it, but I want to cover all ends, I mean what if the potential Buyer doesn't buy at the end of the contract? Or if toward the end of the contract they are no closer to buying as they were when they began to rent it? And can I still sell it, if I change my mind about selling it to them in spite of a contract? Not to be rude, but I do plan to keep a watchful eye on their credit to see if things do change during their stay (via a signed form of course).

..We are trying to buy a house which is a fixer-upper. It needs lots of work. The town will not let it be sold in the condition it is presently in.But,they have delayed the closing so long I am ready to say 4get it but hubby won't listen. They have to do electrical work. And other work, also. That would delay the closing another month, right?
If they do this work before the closing, the value of the house will go up instantly and we won't get the house anyway, right? Isn't the loan only good 4 3 months?
Please answer all questions......
Thank you.
N.

What would the person have to look like, act like for you as a hirer to feel threatened by them, extremely uncommunicative, etc.., or to simply not like the person?
want out as quick as possible when they come in for an interview? And makes them want to lie about a position being open or not, and be vague about who does the hiring and throw them off on how to contact them, and embarrass and humiliate in front of everyone else in the restaurant?

My brother and I have been in the collection business (working for well known successful companies) and now want to venture out on our own. Can anyone advise us on how we may start? We're both extraordinary collectors but lack the knowledge of buying paper and initiating the business itself. We live in Las Vegas by the way.
