My former boss keeps BEGGING me to come back to my job because she feels like I was the only good asset to the company & the only one who did my job correctly. & she's trying to bribe me with higher pay & higher position, but I'm done with that job. It's nice money, but I don't care. I'm going back to school in the fall.

Tell her that you are flattered and that you will be happy to come back and take her job. LOL. Only kidding, but just tell her that you are flattered by the offer but your life has changed now and you want to attend school.

Dont do it, your employer will always feel as if you "worked" him for more money, and resent you and will probably start looking for your replacement.
You quit the job for a reason, and when you go back, you will remember what that reason was.

I just started a job 3 weeks ago and I had a chat with the owner and I told him "I will never ask for a raise, and I wont change my mind if I give notice, it's a matter of principle"

How did me giving notice make me worth more money? Did I get smarter or better overnight?

Pay me what I'm worth, because somebody will.

After saying those things, I knew in my heart that he did'nt really hear a word I said, and he will be surprised when I give him notice in a week or two when I get a job that pays the going rate for what I do.

You answered your own question. You were not happy in your job and your feeling that life can offer you something better. Its a shame that people only want to pay what they know you are worth after the fact. Go to school and find your dream and then you will find happiness

I would take the job offer personally with the understanding with my boss I was going to school in the fall and that they would have to work around my schedule.

this way you have a good job and money to pay for college, and if your boss refuses, then at least she'll know where you stand and will leave you alone. Either way, you win. :)

Don't do anything...if you need some sort of closure, send a formal letter turning down the new offer and reiterating your resignation.

it's nice that they offer mor $...but please remember why u want to leave to begin with...is that problem going to be rectified if you stay (even with more $)?

I personally, would not want u to stay if you gave notice...and would not offer you more $. too many people try to give notice to get extra $ and it does not work most of the time.

so....you need to decide...will i be worth it to stay?

good luck
