I work at a corporation. I applied for a position, and haven't been granted an interview yet. I read a circulated email that stated they were planning on bringing on a new employee soon to fill this role. It is legal for my company to hire a new employee and not grant me an interview for this position even after i sent a posting to human resources?

I am selling my primary residence after 2 years and will qualify for the married $500,000 capital gains exemption. Am I required to roll that money into new property or can I knock out some debt with the excess cash?
Thanks in advance!

The baby is due in exactly 2 months. I just found an investor who will finance my start up costs for my business. I have to build a website, get a product inventory going, advertise, ship products, deal with customers, etc. and will be doing it all myself. Will I have time with a newborn? Should I wait until he is older? This is my first child so I don't know what to expect but I need the money.

My husband just got a "levy" from a Sheriff's office (but it wasn't sighned) that a garnishment is going to start due to a credit company from an account he never had.
What is a levy?
Shouldn't something have been sent to him notifying him of a court date or something prior to this?
THIS IS THE FIRST either of us had heard of this garnishment or even anything about the debt they say he has. It has not been on his credit reports. The statement also said that there is a hold on an account at a bank that he never had an account with.
How do we go about finding out about these things?\
We always pay our bills (in fact we just got 2 big ones paid off w/in the last 6 months) so why is this happening?

I'm sure they'd all prefer to sell you drugs that work and aren't harmful, but they're in business to make a profit, and they make huge profits, a lot of which they invest in advertising theird drugs to get more people to buy them. They will try to convince you to buy whatever products they make, whether they work or not. Drug companies should not be trusted - they are not trying to help you, they are trying to make money.

I have a derivative arbitrage strategy I would like to trade. I'm looking for 50-100K and can pay a high level of interest (~10-15% per annum) Should there be losses, if I create and borrow through an LLC, will this effect my credit rating. I understand finding someone to loan the money may be difficult because in essence I am taking no risk.

I just received a call on my cell phone from a debt collector in regards to a 10+ year old debt, which was removed from my credit report after 7 years without any action being taken. Are they able to collect this old debt even though it's been removed from my credit report about 10 years ago? Are they able to garnish the wages from my pay check?

If a canadian penny is worth more than twice its value would it not be worthwhile to cash in on this?

We have looked at auction sales, REO and HUD as possible sources of a well priced home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Now we want to feel we are covering the range if we look at pre foreclosure property as well. If we can identify real savings to be made, is there any impediment to assuming an existing loan as part of our offer?
