I am having a little issue with my w4. for the past 3 years i have been owing money to uncle sam.
I file single (not married live alone) ... but i have gotten a raise every year and now my salary is at 43,250. i don't want to owe any money at the end of this year so should i change anything on my w4? to reflect my raises?

I won't have my own store front (I'm leasing from another bakery) so I don't want the word bakery in there. I would like the name to show that I do more than cakes (also cookies, brownies and chocolates). I also would like for it to have a home-style feel. My target market is wedding and tiered cakes (baby showers, wedding showers, anniversaries [but I do everything]) so couples and women in the 21-35 age range probably. I hope this is enough information to get some wonderful ideas.

Thank you for any help!

I have three years left to run on my under-pining/foundation guarantee, large cracks are appearing in my house . I have tried to contact the company who did the work and gave me the guarantee but they don't seem to exist anymore. Is my guarantee null and void. Is there a governing body who looks after this sort of thing? How can you issue a 10yr guarantee and dissapear? sorry to be niave but that means guarantees are worthless! Any legal/practical advice would be welcome.

My office has been giving out my personal cell phone number for business use. It seems to me that this is inappropriate. If I were to approach my employer about it, would I appear petty?

Its listed for 306K now, as opposed to 334K 8 months ago. The woman has had no offers and wants to move. Since the market is a buyer's market, and she's had no offers, people tell me to really go much lower than the asking price on the offer. I am thinking of offering 250K considering it needs a little work. I anticipate her counter offering until we make an aggreement, but I want to stay about 265 or 275K.

Do you think it is a good idea to lowball her that low on the offer? I really like this place, and its been on the market forever with no previous offers. but I am on a budget. Do you think she would go for that, or do you think she wouldnt budge on the price?

Any advice would help! Thanks!

Also you may consider the name to have the following attributes:
1. Short
2. Americanised.
3. Easy to recall and pronounce
4. not something like - Diamondsforless, or diamondsandmore.
5. can be a proper noun like "tiffany", "Oreo"
6. the word may also have no connection to the product for e.g. "apple" for Ipods and Mac PCs.
7. And most important "easy to spell".

FYI, our Company attributes are:
1. Direct and low pricing.
2. Excellent Quality
3. 3 decades of experience.

Any assitance will be appreciated,
Thanks

My wife had her card stolen but the bank isn't covering our losses that were taken through an ATM machine. Even though the account requires a PIN the ATM machine cheerfully kicked out cash, and now VISA claims they are not responsible. WHAT THE HELL GOOD IS A PIN if it's not required??? Now I will get to work the next 4 or 5 days FREE GRATUS to pay off my wifes stolen card PENALTIES imposed by the BANK....VISA IS NOT A SECURE FORM OF BANKING....ANd I would pretty much assume the same is true of Bilk Of America, MASSESCARD and American Depressed.

I've worked at a newspaper for the past four years. At one time I really enjoyed my job, but the past couple of months have been very trying. I live in a small town, and the job is affecting my home life. My editor made me write a couple of exposes on some elected officials who were arrested, and now my life outside of work is crazy.

I've been followed, I can't prove it, but I believe by one of the people I wrote about. They got up on my bumper and took a picture of my car. And now, I can't even go into the local Wal-Mart without getting a hard time.

I don't want to quit on a bad note, or before I find another job, but this is ridiculous.

Also my husband and I are trying to have a baby. His job has no insurance, and mine does. If I switch jobs there is a very good possibility I'll become pregnant within months of being hired, which is really unfair to that company. I don't plan to go back to work after having kids.

What should I do? Talk to my boss, quit, or stick it out?

My father is going to file bankruptcy for tax reasons however there is an 80,000.00 lien. I know it survives the bankruptcy, but I want to know when my father dies then what happens to my mother? Will the IRS force sale of the house since they have the lien. Or does she still have a claim to the house? She is on title if that helps.

Landlord wants to charge us for shampooing the carpet, and for patching holes in the walls where we hung pictures and shelves.

The reason for the shampoo: a "stain" (I have yet to find) and it "smells like dog" - though we had full permission to have our dog there. I want to add that my husband and I are both very anal about keeping things clean, including the condo and the dog ... and they are the first people EVER that have said anything about a "smell"

As for the holes from pictures, we had actually been working on filling them. But they had told us at the beginning of the lease to go ahead and hang whatever we wanted

But do these fall under normal wear and tear?? They tried to tell us since it was "brand new carpet" when we moved in, that we need to pay for the shampooing? And nail holes?? It's not like we threw a hammer through the wall ...
