Most people know instinctively that gossipers are vain, insecure, weak, unstable, annoying, and wrong. While the gossip may be juicy at first, reasonable people recognize that it is just gossip and usually dismiss it as such.
If you ignore the gossip, it will fade away.

Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind. To be happy, rest like a great tree in the midst of them.

Office gossip is the worst. That's where, home stays home, work stays at work comes into play. The easiest way to stop it, is to address it when you hear it. "Guess what i heard Sally did?" Answer: " I am sorry, but I do not wish to hear office gossip. It is disrespectful". Lays the law down simply with out offending.

i try to stay away from the ones who are doing alot of it. The only thing that can come from it is trouble. Sooner or later something is going to be said that causes some kind of up roar and the boss or manager is going to get involved. People have been fired because of gossip. Stay away if you can to protect yourself.

I don't get involved! I don't listen to it nor do I spread it. When someone tries to "share" some gossip with me, I make them feel stupid by asking them questions like: 'How do you know?', 'Who told you that?', or 'That's none of my business and I sure would hate to have my personal business spreading around by people that don't know all the facts'.....they get so frustrated with me and start realizing how immature they're being that they just stop telling me anything at all!! And that works just fine for me
