I have found a house I am interested in. I was told that it was recently reduced. But I don't think so. Is there anyway to tell?

I was laid off from my job & asked my last supervisor for a reference, who I felt would give me a decent review to my future employer. I stressed the importance of needing a good reference since the new place made it clear they needed reputable clearance from my last suprvsor before they could take me on. So I asked my last suprvsor if he'd give me a good reference. He responded that it wouldn't be a problem to serve as a reference for me.

The new place really needs someone, but they contacted me about speaking w/another supervsr from a previous job I held awhile ago. The new place seemed like they were lying when I asked about what my first reference said (they were very evasive)

I needed to give the new place my last supervisor's contact info, but feel he gave me a negative, very flat, or empty review. He didn't even follow up w/me to say that someone called (& I asked him to). I feel like I can't trust anyone. I feel strange abt talking to my 1st reference now. I feel duped.

This might seem like a simple question to many of you economics students, but I never took an economics course; therefore, I am a novice about this subject.

The dollar always seemed to be worth about $1.50 to $1.75 a British Pound for years, but within the last year or so it sank to where High Street banks are only valuing it to about $2.05 to a Pound.

Why is this, and how did it happen?

What would the Americans need to do if they wanted their dollar to be more at par with the British Pound? Or, what would have to happen in the UK for the British Pound to sink lower in value to be nearer to the USA Dollar level?

Thanks! As I said, I am not an economist, so please have patience with my simplistic questions.

I am buying a home. The mortgage broker tells me I can get a HELOC with zero closing costs in addition to the mortgage. I don't need it currently, but is it useful to get it for the future in case I need money? I am financially stable and have very good credit.

Last year i was unfairly dismissed from my job, i put a claim in and won, i was meant to be awarded a good lump sum of money but the firm went bust not long after i was dismissed and that they had no money to pay me. I am far from happy, is there nothing else i can do to get the money that is meant to be awarded to me? I feel very hard done by and im determined to get at least something.

If anyone has any good advice on what i can do then i would be very greatful.

I work part-time at a popular food establishment (not revealing the name of it for privacy reasons) and earn about $6.50 an hour serving "whopper" of burgers to people. I want to make more money. I want to make at least enough to pay for a BMW. Oh yeah, I also want to pay off my $16,000 consumer debt. Any suggestions?

Our company has designed a new product and have them mass-produced in China somewhile ago and sold currently in USA. We've abondoned the project because there has been a problem found in the product. But the China factory is now upgrading the product and slightly altered the outer appearance and sell the product through other client in US. Is there anyway to file a lawsuit about it? Who should I file the lawsuit to, the manufacturer or the client here in US? We don't make any patent or make any design copyrights before. Can we win the case? Look forward to hear from you again soon."

If I(single male) have 750 FICO score & make $2,800 a month before taxes, could I get a 30 yr fixed loan with low interest rates for a $500,000 3bd/2ba home near Los Angeles?

I do have a 2nd job which I make additional $2,500(doing mechanic work for customers on weekends & at night after my regular work) but I get cash "under the table". Is it going to be a "do-documentation" loan or can it be a regular loan since I only have $2,800 official income which probably is not enough for a $500,000 house. Could you be specific?
