How can you answer that one - how can a footballer be paid more than a police officer or soldier, or say bomb disposal officer.
It is usually the case - were the dirtiest jobs - get the least pay.
How about fostering children and children with disabilities
Its hard enough to bring up your own children - never mind other peoples kids - and usually the absent parents have a lot to say about it.
I can understand a doctor, lawyer, engineers etc being paid more money - they have had to go to college/university for a long time to educate themselves.

Being a mother, why you ask? responsible for the upbringing, safety, teaching, and molding of the future of our planet. Taking an empty canvas and creating what could be the next Einstein. Doing this while they are crying, running, getting into things, experimenting. A mother works 24/7 yet does not complain cooks, cleans, comforts, acts as nurse, teacher, sitter, disciplinarian, all without bitterness. Puts a CEO to shame I would say.

Good question!

And a tough one. Ordinarily, the market gauges worth by the supply of labor available to fill the current or immediately potential demand. An economically ideal system that poorly reflects our collective sense of our true values.

A perfect example can be found in the salary earned by teachers. A highly valued and particularly difficult profession, good teachers earn a tremendous amount of respect while, at the same time, exercising an equally tremendous amount of influence over current and future generations' ability to adapt to an increasingly complex world. Unfortunately, given the relatively high number of graduating education professionals (in relation to overall demand) and the perverse effects of the teachers' unions to control pay scales, their renumeration never seems fair or adequate.

But to your question.

The Office of the President of the United States deserves the highest salary. Note that this does not mean that our current president is worth the millions this implies; indeed, he would never have been elected to office given the candidate pool attracted to a position that granted the nation's highest salary.

What job entails more risk? More challenges? More headaches and greater stress? ...when done correctly, that is.

You can but that only makes it harder for small and starting businesses to afford help with their business. Obamacare has also made things more difficult. Just think if you owned a small business and wanted to hire some one and the minimum wage was raised and then you are required to pay for healthcare which is also expensive you may not be able to afford to hire a new person at least not full time. This makes it hard to grow your business.

I'd have to say famous people whether they're football players, actors, what ever are the least worthy of the wages they get.

Really anyone who spends their life helping others, who aren't in it for the money but because they love their job and love helping others. Now if only they were paid the wages they deserved.

None. Self employment will take you a lot higher and no one has to know.

Except the tax man. Priviliged information.

When you work for someone else there's only so far you can go. So much freedom you're given. You're somebody else's worker. Not so with being on your own. You get better at it. You determine what's what.

If it's high profile the whole world knows who you are. You miss your privacy once you've lost it.

Anybody I ever met who had done it and had anything bad to say about it was usually someone not too keen on discipline, responsibility, and would really rather let the other guy do their thinking for them.

Farmers!

They provide the very things humans have to have everyday to stay healthy......FOOD!!!

Unfortunately it's a topsey-turvey world where investors, entertainers which includes sports hero's, heads of successful companies, and deceitful politicians make the most.
