I used taxact last year to do our taxes, we are both self employed. Before last year we had always used H&R block. My husband wants us to go back to H&R block because he says we are more likely to get audited if they see that we did our own taxes. But they charge us about $380.00 to do our taxes. What do you think we should do?

I am comtemplating on renting an apt for $1865 per month. The current special is $99 deposit and $64 move in. I want to buy a house this year but I would have spent $22,000 in rent.

This is kind of a decision based on me living with friends and just trying to hurry and get my own. I can handle the rent but what shall I do.? I currently live with my boyfriend and don't have to pay rent. He sometimes says he needs space.

But He lives in a run down place with roaches and wants to move some place better what shall i do?

On top of it I have friend from japan and parents pay their rent and a single female friend who have low income rent where an agency like mental health pay theirs and they say they would not pay that kind of money.

So-called friends ask can I afford it? I guess because I stayed with them a few days and asked for assistance from them. I guess some people think if you ask them for help then i'm not doing well.

I have paid $975 per month on my own before.

I always pull out at least $100 from the ATM every time.

I have friends who never use cash for anything. It seems like they are using Credit Cards for everything. I suspect when there is a terrorist attack we will need that cash because Credit Cards will be worthless. Remember the NYC power failure a few years ago, no one had money and they suffered because businesses would not accept Credit or Debit Cards.

When we bought our home I put my son's name on the deed to avoid his having to pay whopping inheritance taxes. In the event of my inevitable demise, he is already on title and just assumes full rather than partial ownership of the property.

Now somebody tells me that this will actually cause legal confusion & result in his paying whopping capital gains taxes upon our demise when he sells the real estate, and that it's better to leave it as part of the estate for him to inherit and dispose of. Which is true?

I pay my council tax monthly and the installments are 10 payments from 1 April to 1 January for the period 1 April to 31 March (payments due on the 1st) I was a bit short of cash with Xmas ect so paid Decembers and January's instalments by cash on the 23rd Jan. Today I recieved a Court summons for the 2 outstanding installments (Dec and Jan which I paid on the 23rd of Jan) .the summons is dated the 20th Jan and costs £40. As I have paid my Yearly amount in full before the end of the period (ie 31 March) can the council persue me for payment of the cost of the summons ?.

Okay, my cousin and I are going to shack up together. She is currently in college getting her BA in Med.( She wants to be an obgyn). And, I work regular labor at $12/hr.for 40 hrs a week. Our cars are already paid for so we are only focusing on the house. We saw a million dollar home and we want to purchase it when she gets her degree. So, do you honestly think that between she(doctor) and I(labor) can afford to buy the house?

If you put in your two weeks notice because you just cannot take the heat of the job and your bosses dad calls you to have a meeting and then tries to bribe you to stay would you? I am an office manager at a car dealership and I am fed up with the stuff that goes on around here. If someone doesn't do their job I am expected to pick up the slack.(I don't mean just in the accounting office) My boss yells and curses at me on a weekly basis. My bosses dad is a multimillionaire with his own company. They seem to think that money will solve anything. Am I in the wrong for not taking back my two weeks and accepting their offer of a huge raise? Please help!!!

Is there a mortgage company that will refinance at 100% LTV with a low credit score? The mortgage history only shows (1) 30 day late in the life of the mortgage (just over 2 years).....also, I am trying to do a cash out option to consolidate a few other bills and do some home renovations. This still would not make the total loan exceed the value of the property...but with this cost and closing costs...we'd be real close to what we anticipate the appraisal to be. Therefore, we need 100% re-financing. I would really appreciate serious answers...We got stuck with a house that we had sold on land contract with a 5 year balloon,.....we were 3 years into the contract and they abandon the house leaving us with a REAL mess and property taxes unpaid......we don't have the immediate resources to fix it up...but have no choice but to move back into it to keep it from going into foreclosure...Thanks for all your help!!!

Today India is producing business minds in mass numbers. Hovever , a large pie of this portion is contributed by those aggressive teens , who face the barrier of being born in a middle class family . Ideas which might change the way India looks , ideas which may catapult India to become a superpower , are all shattered due to hurdles .

How would these upcoming people be helped with their ideas which might change generations to come ?

I have a degree in finance/real estate from major 4 year public university. I have about 2 years of somewhat irrelevant work experience doing administrative tasks in the work force. I am on track to be a licensed real estate agent for the state of Georgia in about 3 weeks among other resume builders such as a pilots license, etc. and am looking for a start in commercial real estate and possibly an ultimate career brokering busineses for sale. It seems difficult to find good info available on job descriptions. What are the best companies to look at? Anyone from the industry have any comments on the field? How about commission levels, etc? What's a good path to take? Do you suggest jumping right in or starting in residential first? How about an internship or finding a mentor? Anything helps. Thanx!

Ok I have been working for this company for over a year, I am satisfied with this company and it seems to me that so are they with my services…. Though I am a temp they have plans for me to stay on board for years… I have discuss things with my boss as what the status is for me to become a permanent (because the temp agency is charging a lot of money for me and I get only about 60% of it) my boss explained to me that they cant hire me directly because they do not have head count… in the past I have gotten paid directly by the company for certain events… can I just get paid as a vendor if I don’t have a business license I just want to eliminate the temp agency so that I could get paid more and not be too much of and expense to the company.
