I just became an adult like two years ago and I'm still in college and not in "the real world" yet, so I never really cared. How does this whole credit score thing work and what's the big deal about it? What is it and why the hell does it matter? And what will I need a good credit score for anyways, I mean, I don't plan on taking out any loans in my lifetime, I plan on moving into a city and living without a car, I have a prepaid cellphone bill, I don't plan on ever getting a credit card (I have a debit card from my bank), I don't plan on getting married. So what am I ever going to need a good credit score for? The only thing I can think of is for when I get my own apartment, but still, I'll just put a security deposit down, I don't mind.

I have to work as a guard, and I am dreading this. There is alot of standing around doing nothing. Any advice as to how I can keep my mind occupied?

I know, I know that I have to make sure that I do my job (mainly keep the peace, provide a presence, act as a deterrent, look for suspicious activity or individuals etc...) But there are long and tedious periods of just standing around while you glance at your clock every 5 minutes (in your mind you think it's 5 when actually only 1 minute has passe, after awhile you think 5 hours have passed when only 1 has...lol)

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I was offered a position today that is "salary exempt." I'm not really sure what this means, can anyone explain?

I was given an hourly rate, and the job is 50 hours per week. Does that mean I'll be paid for 50 hours a week at this rate, regardless of how many hours I actually work?

There's also a shift differential, which confuses me more. And if I work more than three hours after 3pm, I get the differential, which is an additional $10 an hour, and an additional $12 if working the night shift. Any explanations?

I live in california and I want to open a small online store that sells toys like san-x and others. Many of the stores I've asked for wholesale said that I need to provide a sales tax license or Tax ID and business license. How do I get them? How much do the usually cost? How much are taxes? How often do I have to pay taxes? How old do you have to be? I'm 16.

a) Is it wise to save and/or invest money for my younger niece and nephew if I plan to have kids of my own one-day? I was thinking of depositing yearly amounts that equal up to $5,000 by the time they are 20 and then giving them the money on their 20th birthdays. (4 months and 5)

b) Is $5,000 a good amount, or is that a ridiculous amount considering I'm not their mother?

c) Is there a way to present them the money but in a way so they can't blow it on stupid stuff? (I'm hoping they'd take that money and use it for college, savings accounts, stocks, and etcetera.)

Please email me if you have any greater suggestions. I would really like to do this for my niece and nephew.

How long will it take my bank to put all of it towards my available balance? It is withholding all but $100 of the money. How long does it usually take? It is US Bank in case that helps.
