My estate agent has said that they hold the deposit, but that it is held in a non interest bearing account. Do I believe them? This could amount to hundreds of thousands of pounds for them. Why would they hold it in a non interest bearing account?

Are there any rules on this in the UK?

I got a temporary position at the IRS which I am starting in less than 2 weeks. My husband is in Iraq and gets his R&R, (2 week leave), in mid to late March.

Of course I will want the two weeks off, unpaid of course, but I will still want the job when he goes back to Iraq. When should I mention this to my supervisor? Do you think they will understand and give me the 2 weeks off and allow me to come back to work?

I want to be able to use this job on a resume later and I think it would be a great reference. I am just worried they won't allow me the weeks off so I will basically have to quit.

Any advice, opinions, suggestions, or experience with this kind of situation would help. Thanks!

Hi. I'm after some advice: i've got an interview at a bank on Friday and if i'm wearing a darker coloured skirt suit with a lighter blouse, what colour should my shoes and hosiery be? And why does everyone seem to be plumping for stayups as opposed to suspenders/garters these days? I thought the belts worked better? Do stayups actually work for all day though? Which arew best? I don't want them rolling down mid-interview!! i'll definately be wearing a skirt as i don't do trouser suits. Its very difficult to know what to do but i have to create the right impression coz first impressions count! And just how short/long should i go with my skirt? i know the general guide is 1 inch above the knee but isn't that too long? I'm after advice on proper attire coz want best chance possible. Also, when sitting down in the in the interview, is it best to go cross-legged or another position?
