I don't think you should shift from chemistry to IT.
I am also a student of chemistry and had this same doubt a year ago, but I became convined that I will stick to chemistry because I love Chemistry. Also, everyone is going to the IT field now. So, even if you are good in that, you can't differentiate yourself. But, Chemistry is a noble science. It has maximum amount of applications. Imagine living without clothes, food, plastics, oils, medicines,...these are by-products of chemical research. After completing your undergraduation and postgraduation in chemistry, you can go for research and development and do research in the following fields-

1. Textiles and fibres
2. Dyestuffs
3. Foods
4. Polymers and Plastics
5. Paints, Varnishes and Surface coatings
6. Oils, Olechemicals and Surfactants
7. Pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals
8. Biochemistry and biotechnology
9. Stem cell research
10. Nuclear Engineering
11. Novel Catalysts
12. Perfumery and flavour
13. Inorganic Chemical Technology
14. Chemical Engineering
15. New analytical techniques
and so on.
There is maximum research oppurtunity in Chemistry and Chemical Technology. If you want money, fine, go to computers, but you won't get that joy and satisfaction which you get in Chemistry, in IT.
Who knows, one day you may revolutionize something by finding something new. Each and every moment of life on this earth is controlled solely by Chemistry. So, I think you should pursue the powerful science of Chemistry. All the best!

Your first consideration should be to choose a field that interests you. You already have three years in your field of study. If it interests you, stick with it.
Chemical engineering would be a useful career. We still have lots of chemical plants and oil refineries in the US.
Chemistry could also help to get you into the health care field. In my area, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we have a world-leading collection of research facilities associated with University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Best wishes on whichever career you choose.
