any chemist job for a filipino in the US?

i'm in the philippines, 3rd BS chem, i want to work in US after graduation but i doubt if there are available jobs for me there

i plan to left/shift chemistry to IT, computer engineering or Nursing or physical therapy because they are more demands there

i am confused, please help

It is definitely easier for a Filipino to get a job in the US as a nurse, as thousands of others have done.

But even as a chemist -- if you have the experience and the academic background necessary -- you can find a job in the US. Though it won't be as easy as a nursing graduate where recruiters are a plenty in the Philippines.

You may have to travel to the US yourself and apply for a job here (though getting a tourist visa for a Filipino nowadays is like going through the eye of a needle). That way, the employer won't have to think of transporting you from the Phil to the US just for the job interview.

Or you can take graduate studies in the US. It's a lot of expense, even though the Phil peso is appreciating to the dollar. But that is one sure way of getting an employer to sponsor you.

Applying through online services such as Monster.com or CareerBuilder.com won't usually work because there is the added consideration of the employer sponsoring you to give you work visa.

My advice is to continue your studies and gain experience in your field first in the Philippines.

Don't give up hope on what you want yet. The following site has free job and career boards. Go and register at these sites and you can browse their listings and post information about yourself as well so companies with a need can find you. Good Luck

If you are an RN in the U.S., you can almost write your own ticket as far as salary. That is how much RN's are in demand right now.
