I don't have anything back from the company I work for yet, of course, but I saw something on TV that sounds like I won't have to wait till my W-2 arrives. Do you know anything about that add? If so, how much does it cost and is it reliable and faster?

I have two good job offers on the table right now and am having a hard time deciding which to take.
Job one has good benefits and a company vehicle. It is 40 miles from my home.
Job two has more benefits, no company vehicle and is 60 miles from my home. This job pays $18,000 more.
The most important benefits (health and retirement) are similar.

How much is the vehicle really worth? I expected a higher salary from job two because it is Westchester County, NY. If I look at a salary calculator between the two jobs, job two looks low. Does that matter since I am not leaving my home and will live here no matter which job I take?

I lived in a crappy apartment back in october where a car was stolen, it was infested with roaches, and so much more problems. Anyway, I just applied somewhere else and they denied me because its on my credit. I can't afford to pay it off ! I have two kids and I need somewhere to live! Does anyone know what options are out there? I live in AZ if that helps?? What do people do to get a place? Cause I know I'm definitely not the only one to break a lease! Thanks

I live in California, I have requested my landlord to install fire alarms in my apartment, there is NONE, I have been waiting for him for 10 months, last week I had a fire and now I am supossed to pay for the repairs, even though I was sleeping when the fire started (right outside the front door) I still reminded him of the fire alarms, it has been a week and he doesn't seem to even remember. What the hell can I do???

(I know I can buy them myself but I mean legally with the landlord, I want him to feel my anger for not listening to me! :p )

Look, I like Apple's products. But as Warren Buffett said, liking a company's products and liking their stock are two different matters.

AAPL has a P/E in the 40's, and it is being driven by a lot of hype. Not to mention that the stock option issue hasn't really been dealt with by an *outside* auditor. I would be very nervous holding this stock right now.

Any links are greatly appreciated. i'm aware of my local angel networks, but i simply need more people. Any suggestions on where I can look is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I live in CA. I've heard that employers in CA by law, can only go back 7 years in your criminal history. Do they or can they check my juvenile records? I know it depends on what type of job it is. I am applying for a hotel customer service job. No big deal. Should I worry? I've worked at other places where they've checked out my back ground.

My responsibilities have swelled beyond the position I was hired for (without a raise or promotion, mind you) and now I'm so stressed and overloaded that I can barely think. Can I do anything besides quit?

Is there such thing as a 1,000,000.00 USD bill?

When people do big money transactions, per instant 8 trillion dollars do they actually use 1,000,000.00 bills? Or do they carry by truck load of suitcases full of 100.00 bills?

Has anyone ever actually seen such thing? (You don't have to answer that)
Maybe know of someone who has? (You don’t have to answer that either)

I am in the process of selling my house on long island NY. I was just wondering what you look at when you are in the process of buying a house. What makes a better sale?

Suppose you got a job offer (for an office job) and the pay was low. You negotiated and they met you a little less than half way. You still don't like it, but it's just business so that is their offer.

This job comes with no benefits, none. It's an hourly rate and 40 hours a week, a temporary gig, that might turn full-time but who knows. Certain things are okay about the job, but really you're not excited about it---and not just because of the money.

If the job has no "benefits" in the HR sense of the word, what other things can you ask for to make up for the mediocrity? You can't ask for more vacation days, since you don't get any. A better job title is not applicable. You could ask to work from home sometimes but are not sure if there's a real reason to (there is hardly a commute).

You believe you'll immediately start to look for another job as soon as you start working there. Is it even worth it to ask for these perks, if you can think of any?

I have an interview coming up for a position as an Activity Director for Alzheimer's patients. Although I worked somewhat in Activities for seniors, I have a few questions for those of you in that field. Maybe you could help me prepare for the interview.

1. Not having been a Director as such, what would you suggest for starting salary? I have a 2 year dgree.

2. What would you wear for such an interview? I always thought shirt and tie, but I'm told there is such a thing as OVER dressing for certain positions.

3. What kind of questions would you ask.

I'm so excited...I would LOVE doing this. LOVE working with seniors.
Thanks.

I work as a hostess as Ruby Tuesday. When I started, I was told I'd make $3 an hour plus comission on how much food is sold. The manager said the comission was good money.
But I've been there for a month, and I'm not making good money at all. I found out I'm really making 2.80 an hour, and the comission is crap. I work for 5 hours and end up with 12 bucks. When I add my comission to my paycheck, it still doesn't even make minimum wage.
I complained about this, and I was told, "upsell more expensive food and you'll get more money." I'm a door greeter. It's not my job to take their orders. Is this right?
