Just be safe and don't correspond with anyone off the internet unless you run it by your parents FIRST! You really don't know who people are and it's not safe. (That's the mom in me).

I have this same problem! What are you into? If you're into sports, you might be able to get a job as a referee for a intermural league for little kids. A lot of my friends ref Sunday basketball for $8 an hour. If you like computers, try and talk to your library. I know that my library has a program going where you take a computer course, become a certified technology person, and help people fix computers for some amount of money. You could also get a full time babysitting job. If you like writing and want to get some money in the future, start doing your school newspaper. It won't help much right now (unless your school pays people to write for them!) but when you're a senior your local newspaper may hire you to write senior bios or something. Some supermarkets around where I live hire 14 year olds too. Just check around your area and see what's going on.

Being a paper girl is something you can do at 14 yrs old. For a job such as a cashier at a grocery store, you need to be at least 16 yrs of age. Even when you turn 16 in a couple of years, you will still need an ID (Indentification) card to prove your age, and they'll do a background check just to make sure that you can legally work i.e. having a clean record; no felonies or misdemeanors whatsoever. Hope that helps!

You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit
http://ommc.blogspot.com
I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

Talk to your school's guidance counselor about a work permit and if they've heard of any local employers that are looking for help. My school used to get calls all the time from employers needing help in inventory, retail operations, cleaning, office support, etc.

Other than babysitting, paper route, dog walking/sitting, or yard work for neighbors--you are too young to get a legal job. You need to be 16.

babysitting is a good job for someone your age, as is doing odd jobs around your neighbor's homes (cleaning, mowing, etc.).
