I worked in management for years. I detested the "objective".
One time a woman put under objective, "to get a job". I hired her immediately.

Starting at $23 an hour, I know a lot of people that would make their objective to get that job. If it is a college kid job, they only want you to say you will on time, be there when you are supposed and never, never call in sick. Believe me, on this type of job they don't care about anything else...............

Since nobody aspires to be in a janitorial position for the rest of his or hers life, I would recommend that you say it would be an excellent oppertunity to start at entry level. Let the potential employer know that you wish to go to college to pursue a more fruitful career, but that you expect no favors during your ladder to sucess! You are a hard worker and you want to start from the ground up!!!

Please don't put an objective on your resume. I know they tell you to do that in high school, but trust me, it isn't necessary. In fact, many employers see it as the sign of an amateur.
The better strategy is what they call a "summary" of your experience. Start with relevant skills you have, right at the top of the page, then use the resume to expand on them. They know your objective is to get a job in their saw mill. You simply need to sell yourself as qualified to do it.
