How long will it take my bank to put all of it towards my available balance? It is withholding all but $100 of the money. How long does it usually take? It is US Bank in case that helps.

With the new Check21 rules you should expect to be able to have access to all of your funds in no more than 7 business days for an out of state check. Most banks clear them quicker than that. A quick call to your bank will let you know for sure.

Business 3 days, personal around 6-7. Some banks now have check balance check thing that lets them clear your check faster because they have seen the funds.

It depends on where the check is drawn from, is it a local check or an out of state check? Some of those hold periods are governed by law, some are governed by individual bank policy.

Each bank has its own policies regarding "check holds". The teller should have advised you of how long the funds would be held. Call your bank and ask them when your funds will be available.
