My wife received a notice from a collections agency over an auto tax for 1993 and 1994 from a city she used to live in, but moved away from. It also came along with $650 in penalty charges and interest over the principal. Why would a city wait 13 or 14 years before trying to pursue payment? What can we do about the penalties? Shouldn't have the city tried to find her sooner? My wife was unaware of the charges as she was working for a company that moved her around alot. Its possible that the bills were never forwarded to her.

This is an internet makeup company. I've successfully ordered from them before -- and they do have a great product -- but now it seems I've fallen into the category of the several other customers I know who've been in this position. As of today I've been attempting to contact them for 2 full weeks, with no reply: I've sent 3 emails. There is no other way to contact them, as they have no listed phone number. One other customer and I have attempted to locate one via Google, but found nothing.

In any case, they have my money but I have no product -- and I know for a fact that it hasn't been shipped. What should I do?

The one involving an upside down pyramid where you put in upto £3,000 and stand to make £24,000.
You start at the top of the pyramid and keep moving down depending on how many people you get to join.
Once you are at the bottom you go into 'receivership' and you get the £24,000 from other people that have joined.

I heard about this scheme at work today. One colleaugue joined in December, she put in £2,250 and stands to make £18,000 in the next couple of weeks. Another colleaugue has made £12,000 so far.

I'm in two minds about it and was wandering if anyone had any good or bad experiences of this scheme that they could share with me.

I have spent the last 10 years telecommuting from home as a medical editor/transcriptionist. I would like to get out of the house now and look for work in a medical environment (office, hospital, etc.) as a secretary/receptionist. I have an excellent background in medical terminology/pharmacology and very good computer skills , but I don't necessarily have much experience in office skills.

I bought several current textbooks and CDs that teach medical office skills, such as filing insurance claims, scheduling, coding, etc. (These are textbooks that are used by colleges for the medical office specialist program.) I did these courses thoroughly and feel I have a good understanding of the processes involved.

What I'm wondering is if there is some way I can include these on my resume? I feel as if I know just as much as if I had actually taken these courses in school, and I feel they are crucial to at least getting my foot in the door for an interview. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had bought 5 ONGC shares before the bonus share issued (Nov'06). I got only 2 bonus shares in ratio of 1:2 for the 4 shares held? What happened to the 5th share? The price has fallen down.Is than mean, I have to make a loss out here for that share of the original pre-bonused value?

Do I understand the new charity tax law correctly. Is some sort of receipt required for ALL cash donations? I could understand there being a requirement for amounts of $250 or more but what about those donations to the holiday bell-ringers, church offerings; especially when you give a few dollars to your kids to put in the offering?
I keep track using a finanial program such as Quiken; but is this no longer accepted.
Do you give them a check, do you put it in an envelope with your name and address
on it and expect a reciept at a later time?

The reason I am concerned about this is because I usually give about %15 of my income during the year and not all of it is by check.

Any clarification and help would greatly be appreciated.

Dan
