Can anyone recommend any good books about advertising and marketing that would translate well on the graphic design front? I'm a graphic designer and would love to learn more about the INs-and-OUTs of advertising/marketing....just not too heavy into Supply vs. Demand and really heavy economics. I'm sure that's part of it too I just think that's more business.
I'd love to learn more about recognizing trends, reaching your audiences, methods and practices...that sort of stuff.

After my husband lost his job it was decided that I would go back to work while he stayed at home for a while. It has been a very hard adjustment for us and our children since the rolls were completely reversed. Wives, how do you feel about this issue? My husband is having a ball, and I like getting out in the work field again, but not forever??

I am looking to move into a home. My credit score is 642. My husband's is 599. My husband got laid off and he claimed bankruptcy two years ago only in his name. We sold our house. We fell behind on some of my bills. All my bills are caught up now. I only have one credit card that I am making payments on over the limit. I have a lot of medical bills on my credit report. My son was very sick until recently. I make payments though. I have a lot of accounts that are negative, but most are paid off now.We tried to get a loan through a bank. They said because the bankruptcy has not been three years, they could not approve the loan. We really need a house and our whole life turned upside down when he was laid off. He now makes 65,000 a year and I stay home with kids. Do you think there is any company out there who can help?

I am studying to pass a national exam while working part time. one job is at a lab but its graveyard for 3 nights a week from 12:30 am to 8:30 am in the morning where i would take care of blood samples and etc in a serology department.

the other job is 6 hours a week at a law office where I would do clerical work. the lab position that is graveyard is more related to the medical field which is the path i am taking and the law office is not really related to my career path...but i don't know if it matters since its so short term before i head out of state.

i have my exam on february 28. both of these jobs are short term commitments...and i need the cash....but i'm concerned that the graveyard may mess up my internal clock but the law office seems like too few hours a week. either way, i need to study. thanks for your insight ahead of time.

both are local and relatively close to my area of residence.

I've been referred to a service that charges approximately $5000 for website design and SEO. I've checked out the websites they have made for others and they seem to get results with high search rankings for their clients. Is this a competivie price though? I can design my own website fairly easily, I really am just looking for SEO. Is there cheaper, but effective ways of doing this (other than doing it myself)?

my dad, who is a financial risk manager at the local energy business, got me interested in investment bankers. i think i know the basics, like that they advise clients on stock, and that they manage stock. but i dont really know that much about them at all.

i was wondering what the job entails. what would you do in the average day? i was also wondering what i should be doing to prepare myself for a career as an investment banker?
