A Debt Buyer purchased my past due account from the bank, and offered me a settlement agreement to pay off 50% of the balance in in 36 months. When I asked if they could put in writing that they wouldn't sell the account as long as I'm making monthly payments, I was told they could not legally do that, because they don't know what the future holds. But they would agree to put in writing how many payments I'm scheduled to make, and that once I've paid off the debt I won't owe anything further to their office, and they would provide me with monthly receipts and the credit bureaus would show that I'm making payments. Is this standard? If so, what happens if the debt buyer goes out of business and I still have a balance?

About 2 weeks ago I went to a small store in our town to buy a gift for my friend. I knew they accepted debit cards so I figured I would buy my item with it. When I went to the register the lady put throught my debit card and said it would not work. She tried it twice more and couldn't get it to work. I ended up not getting anything and just putting the stuff back because I didnt' have enought cash. I got my bill statement today and I have 3 charges from that store all the exact same amount on the same day. Since I did not buy the item I do not have a receipt and therefore no proof I was even there. It adds up to about 60 bucks charged to my debit so I obviously want to get my money back. Any advice on what to do?

I live in a 3 bedroom apt with 2 other girls. One of the bedroom is a master bedroom - larger in size and has a bathroom inside the room. This room also comes with its own parking space. The other 2 rooms are equal in size (smaller than master) and share 1 bathroom. The total rent is $2,475. We have split the rent to charge the girl with master bedroom $895, and $790 for the other 2 rooms. Now the girl with the master bedroom has her bf living there for the past 6 months. He has moved in all his clothes, computer, TV, etc. He has mail sent there, is there when she is not there, etc. He is clearly living there instead of visiting frequently. How much should this couple be paying in rent for sharing the master bedroom?

$1,015/730/730
$1,005/735/735
$995/740/740
Others?

I recently started my own small business. I'll branch out into a bunch of crafts, but right now I am making purses and it gets a little monotonous even though I really enjoy designing them. I have to make as many as possible so I can pay my rent, but it's hard to stay focused since I work at home. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I own a long narrow parcel of land. Sometime in the Nineteenth Century, the boundary hedge was moved approx 2 metres to the East to accommodate an access lane. As this access lane no longer appears in my deeds, who owns it? And can I have it reinstated?

The payment can not be mayed on time perhaps because of: lack of funds, difficulties,or other problems.Does not adding a late fee make it more difficult, should not the reverse work better by perhaps lowering the payment?

For example, where do clothing stores get all their clothes from? Do they design them or buy them from other stores? How much would it cost to put up a store in a mall?

I want to get rid of my house fast. I cant afford it and I cant get it refinanced. I have good credit but I dont make enough money for the mortgage companies to want to refinance me. I am relocating in August and the house market it bad here so I dont have time to sell my house. I was gonna rent it out but my mortgage is too high and I am sure no one will want to rent it out.

My dad recently passed away after being in the hospital for sometime in the ICU without insurance. His side of the family has signed a quit deed in order to receive his estate without his childrens (us) involvement b/c my fathers sister had power of attorney while he was in hospital. Because he has children and is not married or remarried what happens to his property inside such as his belonging of clothes, tools, etc? Are we at least somewhat able to fight for those items or do they go to his family automatically if they receive paperwork in their name for his home? I know they supposable bought the house from my dad for a $1 a week before he passed (dec 06) according to his deed however their paperwork said it started in march 06 when he wasnt even in the hospital.?? Any help?
