No, but if you are concerned about security or you do not have one, get one of those cards that you pay into first. It will limit the amount that can be charged and you will be able to purchase your tickets.

Yes, at least for Continental Airlines, they give you the option to pay by online check, pay by Western Union, or cash at their ticket office, or a Continental gift certificate. You should probably check the airline you're interested to see what payment methods they offer.

Unless you have a third method of paying for the ticket, no. You can no longer book a ticket on-line and pay cash for it at the check-in counter.

You may want to call local travel agency (AAA has travel agency too). Book it and send or bring a check in.
