I always tell myself that everything in life does not always go my way 24/7. We will encounter difficulties along the way that we do not like. We also have to deal with our moods. You must learn to control your body and mind and not let them control you. It is called discipline. Just put on your favorite song or music and remind yourself that tomorrow will be a better day but for now you must get through these next few hours. Just go and get it behind you. P.S. You might want to consider changing job sites or jobs if this is how you feel about your work place or job.

Play with the clothes, widgets, gadgets or whatever it is that you're selling - Just make sure you're supervisor isnt over your shoulder.

Strike up a long conversation with a chatty customer. This gives you an excuse to do your job (help them) but it passes the time.

Make it a game- keep an eye out for cute customers (your age of course) and try to meet someone new. Ya never know....

And if that doesnt help- during a slow period, make a mental note of some of the other places you would rather work instead then come up with a plan to follow up on that later on.

Hope it helps!

Someone once said that if you go thru the motions, you will experience the corresponding emotions. Tell yourself today is going to be a great day and that you will be happy and productive at work. Smile at someone while at work. You'll be surprised how much it helps.

Drink a nice cup of coffee. I used to love to play games at work. I used to work selling tvs and a few people in our department used to have a great time. For example, one person might be talking to a customer in front of a tv, while someone else would walk by them and pass gas, usually t he silent ones, and then walk away. The people looking at the tv and the other employee would be stuck there. It would be hilarious!!!

The power of fulfilling your commitment of being there is much more powerful than not. The other employees will have to cover for you if you do not show. Try to think of what you can do to make it fun. In fact, try go through the entire shift without saying something negative, it is harder than you think.
