I have a coin collection consisting of 200 morgan silver dollars dated prior to 1899. Most are uncirculated. Is it worth paying $30 a coin to have them certified in a particular grade and if so does it matter what grading service I use?

I'm not expert on this, but the IRS nowadays lets folks write off most education expenses...am I right?

Getting my pilots license took five years and cost more than $15,000 of my own hard-earned money (I received no loans, paying entirely as I went). It's absurd that the IRS won't let you deduct a single penny of this (though, I've heard that certain flight training costs, beyond the level of commercial rating, are deductible, and was wondering if someone could comment on this).

I consider this to be a valid education expense and intend to make a career out of this one day, I don't consider this strictly as a hobby (even though I certainly love flying).

Is there any way around this ridiculous law? Or is this just one more reason for me to despise the IRS?

I'm looking to get a credit card, and I don't know which one to chose. I'm in my 20s with a college degree and a good job. I'm tired of using my debit card to pay for things. I want a credit cart that will give me something back for spending. I don't care about interest rates since I will be paying it off every month. I'm an economics graduate and don't spend past my means, that and I hate to shop. I only have a limited credit history though. I have had utility bills in my name for 3-4 years, I have a Victoria's Secrect Credit card with little activity (again I hate to shop), and I have a Corporate Credit card in my name (don't know if that helps me or not). I just don't know which one to chose, visa, MC, Capital one, Citi bank. And do I get reward points, cash back, blah blah blah. I don't travel much so I don't need miles or anything, just looking for some way to get something back on what I spend. Any ideas or advice?

All these questions about credit cards and the debts they run up. Why not just SAVE for your purchases? Makes sense to me and I have been practicing this for many years.

I want to get a treadmill but the one that I want is at Walmart and now that there a NO MORE layaways I was wondering what other kind of gimmack they will come up with. I don't want to get a walmart credit card because I have enough credit cards and I don't need another one. I don't want to put it on my other card. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of any other financing option or plan that Walmart will come up with to take the place of layaways. I would start saving on a gift card but with my luck I probably would spend it. HELP - please don't suggest going to Kmart because I really don't like the treadmills at our Kmart.

I owe $37.000 in credit cards. I paid on time until this month. I can not pay my credit cards anymore. I have two houses, one is rented. I am trying to sell that one. If it is sold I could get $30.000. The other one is the house in which I am living. It is not likely that the house will be sold any time soon. I decided to continue paying both mortgages and keep the houses but I can't pay my credit cards if I do so.

I have no idea about what can I do.
What could happen if I sell the house, pocket the money and not pay my credit cards never? I tried debt consolidation. Didn't work.
Maybe I will need to file for bankruptcy and lose both the debt and the house.
