I get about 5 of these a day! I rarely even look at my mail anymore and it causes me to miss some important letters. How do I stop these from coming?

I have $20K in equity in my first home and the second one will cost about $250K. My brother and his wife and my mother will live there and pay me rent. I want to put as little down as possible.

I am a manager in a small department of 14 people. One employee calls in sick often. This time, three days at Christmas time (and I know she had family in from out of town). She has a doctors note, but it is from a place she knows very well and I think its bogus. What is the law? Can I call to at least verify her appointment?

How it works is that my office is divided into 3 three departments that service our clients.

I work in Account Services and am fairly new, been there almost a year. The Director of Creative is a real prick. He is stuck up, snobish and condescending, traits I have come to expect from him, but he's been trying to take control of me. He tells me what to do and tries to correct my work, even though he knows nothing about my side of the business, other than we talk to the clients.

Ask anyone in his department and they will say he is a terrible Director. We've butted heads more than once and he has only gotten worse. He's tries to do this to everyone, and most of them side step confrontation, but I am quickly losing patience.

This "man" is nothing more than an overgrown baby testing his limits and I would love to be the one who shows him, but he is my senior.

What should I do?

P.S. I don't mind losing my job. If he continues as he is, I might quit.

I am actively looking for a job. I have a bachelors degree in communications and political science, and I am in the process of applying for my masters. However I can't stand my job. The only reason I took it was because out of 260 resumes they were the only ones to offer me a job. I didnt have experience at the time which was a problem. I am only getting paid 10 bucks and hour which is roughly 18,000 a year and no hope for a raise because my boss said its not in the budget. (nice huh?). I have been to a couple interviews so far but nothing yet. I am searching actively online, but my question is, how else can I speed up my search? And how do I get off of work to go to interviews without my employer knowing?

I've heard that Michigan Gas Utilities is sending out multiple bills this month because they messed up when they bought back Aquila and they haven't been charging customers their full amounts. I've checked their website and there's nothing noted about this. However, my boss just told me he's getting 5 bills this month. I wonder if this is just for certain areas or for everyone??

On christmas eve I was at work, and got a call from my boyfriend that are apartment was flooding, I had to leave work early which caused me to miss out on half a days pay, and holiday pay for xmas (because u have to work ur full shift the day before, xmas, and day after), anyway..the plumper finally got there and showed us the RUST hole that caused our apartment to flood (it was a pipe for the people upstairs water). The whole had been fixed before and several other tenants have had the same issues with there apartments flooding or leaks. So should I ask my landlord for reinbursment for lost wages, which equals the price of rent, so I should either ask for the money or just a month free?

I am owed hundreds of pounds from a proffesional tradesman. He has told me that he has declared bankrupt, but I have no proof. I cannot find out where, when and if. So, is there a list of bankrupt people so I can check up whether he is, or is just getting out of paying me?

I started donating alot this year to our Goodwill, and I even have to drive 30 mi to do it. I have $750 in receipts for this year. But the tax law changes require me to have an appraisal for anything over $500 next year. Goodwill doesn't do it. So how in the heck do get an appraisal for donations like that? I live in a rural area also, so I'm not even sure we have someone/thing on our area... where would I even start?

HOW??

I would like to buy my newborn niece a CD or municipal bond, or whatever the best investment option is. My bank has been very unhelpful in the decision making (probably because they don't offer municipal bonds and they are not in the business to best tell me how to allocate my money) and the steps I need to take to do this.

I would like to know what my best options are for this situation and also would like to know what steps I need to take. I'm also young (24 y/o) and have not made an investment such as this before.

I'd like this to be a long term investment to which I may or may not be able to contribute incrementally. Because it's long term, research tells me I should invest in something somewhat high risk (such as municiple bonds) to maximize yield. At the same time I don't want to spend $5000 on a CD and have it only earn 300 bucks after 18 years, CDs seem to have a very low yield. You know?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
