If you have a small manageable operation that you do ALL the work and you produce a high quality garment it is profitable. You will not become rich from dry cleaning. You have to charge more but you need to give more. This biz. is labor intensive $$$. 2 ways to make money very big or small and manageable. Both can be profitable. We are small and supper quality. We make as much or more then the guys with 5/6 store were we have 1 store. We also do ½ the work. People complain about how expensive the clears are those same people complain that the stains didn’t come out or how bad the pressing was. They were complaining and they were using the area’s cheapest cleaners. If they went to the top cleaner they would only be complaining about the price. You get what you pay for, this biz is no different. Good luck have any question drop me a email. The biggest misconception is that cleaners are harmful. The new machines are all self-contained so you are not harming the environment. There is also not 1 proven case in the world that dry cleaning caused a cancer in a person. They say it is a carcinogenic but have no proven cases.

Well if its strictly dry cleaning then it might be touch and go. More people quit buying dry cleaning only items and more and more people using the home cleaning programs. However if you have a laundromat with it then you could make some decent money esp on drop off laundry.

you can do ok if you do not mind the long hours.
Most of the dry cleaning places around me (NYC) have been run by the same people for the last 7+ years (as long as I have been here). They must do ok to still be doing it, but they are ALWAYS there.

Decent?!!!!!! Have you heard of this thing called "global warming"?
I worked in one for years and left because I could not stand what I was contributing to, as far as really sticking it to our planet goes.
