I'm looking to get a credit card, and I don't know which one to chose. I'm in my 20s with a college degree and a good job. I'm tired of using my debit card to pay for things. I want a credit cart that will give me something back for spending. I don't care about interest rates since I will be paying it off every month. I'm an economics graduate and don't spend past my means, that and I hate to shop. I only have a limited credit history though. I have had utility bills in my name for 3-4 years, I have a Victoria's Secrect Credit card with little activity (again I hate to shop), and I have a Corporate Credit card in my name (don't know if that helps me or not). I just don't know which one to chose, visa, MC, Capital one, Citi bank. And do I get reward points, cash back, blah blah blah. I don't travel much so I don't need miles or anything, just looking for some way to get something back on what I spend. Any ideas or advice?

Go to http://www.bankrate.com/brm/rate/cc_home.asp. There's a list of reward cc's. Having utility bills in your name will not build credit, the only way it will affect it is if you have a late payment or if it's taken to collections. Your VS card will probably have minimal impact on your credit since you use it rarely and the limit is most likely low. The only way to know if your corporate cc gets posted on your credit report is to check. Mine doesn't, but depends upon the company. So, opening up an unsecured cc would be good for your score. Personally, I don't think reward cc's are worth much, but if you spend a significant amount each month and can pay it off in full, then there will be no harm.

On my US Bank check card, I earn one percent as often as I use it as a credit card. It doesn't seem like much, but that's what you would be getting with a credit card too.
