Because you are asking the question, I assume that you have no experience in this field. You should start by working at a nightclub. The experience will help you build a stronger case when applying for a loan later. Next you need to figure out all of the costs. You will probably be leasing the building, but you'll need to get lights, equipment, etc. I imagine that the most expense expense you'll incur is the finish-out of the space. Now in order to get a loan from a bank you'll need a number of things, probably most important is money. They'll probably require that you put 50% down because the collateral securing their loan is specialty equipment i.e. speakers as opposed to something marketable i.e. real estate. You'll also need to come up with projections and convince your lender that you will cash flow. You'll need to set up an LLC which will be the borrower on the deal and you will be the guarantor. You should obviously try to have a good credit score, most of the lenders and senior regional lending officers that I know say that a good credit score doesn't really help you (because it's expected), but a bad credit score does hurt you. Your loan will probably be a short term because some of the bank's collateral such as the couches and tables will get torn up fairly quickly.

Bottom line, your loan will be judged in the following, by order of importance:

Tie: 1 & 2: Loan to Value (how much you put down) & Debt Service Coverage Ratio (Will this club be profitable)
3. Your experience
4. Your credit score
5. The quality of financial statements that you provide to your lender.

Hope that helps.

Find a good location, think of a catchy name, decorate the interior, install a swanky bar, get insurance, hire doormen/security, make your place look even more swankier by hicking up prices for drinks/allowing guest lists and making common folk queue for ages. Hire the 'IN' DJ's / groups.

Pay off the gangs then run most of these clubs by giving them money (if you don't they will cause havoc in the club and your place will shut down).

Hire a good lawyer to see off drug related charges that you will face.

Other club owner will be annoyed that you took their customers so you won't be popular.

Oh get some flyers done, hire a rep at all major university/colleges. Have some themed nights!

To increase profits allow more girls in the club. More girls = more men = more profits.

Save your money!!! The insurance costs related to opening a nightclub are astronomical! Underage drinkers will get you sued! Drunk drivers will get you sued! Drunks will sue you! Fighting in the club will get you sued. The visits from the mob who want to help run your business for a monthly donation will occur!
Hope this helps! Sorry to burst your bubble but I've been there three times!

Find a "Grant-writer", to do your legal paperwork, and get a Government Grant, thats what all the "Orientals did" with all the old Mom & Pop, liquor stores in California.... They came to our country, somehow, whether it was legal or not, and bought houses, and got Government Grants, and either they were "Genious" enough to do all the legal paper work themselves, or they got Grantwriters, to do it for them.. I get junk mail from those Grantwriters all of the time... Just log on your address bar, Grantwriters.com, and see where that gets you, or go to Google, and see if they can find one for you... Oh, also, to start off, you could do like my brother In-Law did, and go down to the city, and get a permit, to open up your own business, and rent a building somewhere, and then set things up with the Government Grant, and if you cant do the paper work yourself, get ahold of a Grantwriter, to help you with all of the legalities... I'm pretty sure the Grantwriters will charge a fee.. They even phoned me telling me I had all this money coming to me, that they'd just charge me $500.00 , off the top to get me started ... I thought for sure it was a scam, then I remembered in the 70s, hearing about all of the Orientals, from other countries coming to America, and getting those Grants, through the Government... And I dont think you even have to pay it back.. You could speak to a Free Attorney more about it, before you proceed with the paperwork, or the Government Grant, for that matter.. To cover yourself, on this matter!! I keep trying to talk my son into getting his own "Pinstriping" business,.. The boy, is quite thee Artist!!! And I think he'd be good at doing pinstriping on Harley Davidson bikes, or even cars, like Lowrider cars, etc.. anyway Good-Luck, to you, and I hope I was of some help for you... Hey, I hope You & Yours will have a Wonderful , Peaceful & Prosperous New Year!! Smile!!!

first look for a large room then think of something fricky and fun like filling the whole room with foam whilst the people are dancing, drinks, speakers and Djs and bouncers to bounce and sometimes surprise them with some fourite pop stars and always make sure that sometimes you do drinking compitions and also something like who has the sexies dress and sexies man or woman and the best dancer inthe club but please make sure you give them something like no payment of culb fees for the winner which will challeng the clubers.

I think I agree with 'The Mysterious One' I should think there are alot of undesirable people involved one way or another in night club life! But Good Luck with your venture if it gets of the ground.
