DEpends on the job, but if the job isn't working in the IT Dept, a good knowledge of Word, Excel and an understanding of File management would suffice, I think. You could always ask the company.

Know how to use Word, Excel and Outlook (and other MS Windows applications) to a good standard as most companies use these applications in the office.
If they have an in-house computer system then they will provide training but could be Windows based so a know ledge of the above would provide a good background

Traditionally, it would imply you would know how to use basic Windows applications (tells you little bit how integrated Windows has become to our society ;)). That would imply knowing how to use Windows Word and Outlook, Internet Explorer and basic knowledge on how to use the internet.
Other companies / and positions would require you to know how to use basic functions of Excel, Powerpoint and Access. But that would then be mentioned.
A benchmark would be your comfort level using and applying computer applications. If you are comfortable using computer applications - you should be good.

Well... turning on the PC. Knowing how to cut and paste... e-mail... maybe some basic Word applications. Maybe even a little Excel knowledge.
Basically if your posting on Yahoo! Answers, I'd say you pass a "Computer Literacy" test.

What it potential is have you ever had to apply database utility? properly, almost each and every interest has to apply a database of a few variety, till you're scaling down timber or digging a ditch, i think. in case you have worked a money sign in in a admired quickly nutrients place, you have been utilising a database front-ended via the terminal interface that saved track of inventory and guy-hours once you clock in on it. they basically desire to be attentive to in case you could enter documents into fields and tab to the subsequent field, in actuality.
