im very interested in getting into this and im getting an interview set up soon and if the application asks how much $ i want or something i want to know what to ask for, also im just curious in general, as i am going to have to quit one or noth of my other jobs, i want to do the math and figure out which i should quit

My website will be a mixup of many things, like, Yahoo! (lol). well, it might not be as gigantic as yahoo, but, there will be many topics starting from friend-finding to education, forums to guitarChords, ,, - and anything i like to add. Thus, the name needs to be general. It might be any dictionary word(s) or any phonetic word, or anything - i hope u understand.
This is driving me crazy, please help :)

I can leave town and make $20 hr as a power plant tech.( the job i did in the navy) the plant is on strike and I will be locked in the plant working 12hr shifts 7 days a week till the strike is resolved. I work now as a construction labor/leadman making $15hr. there are 3 superintedants and 2 of them hate me and rain days are the norm this time of year. I enjoy working outside and hard work does not bother me. I have a wife and 4 month old child to think about

Had a nice girl come to our door in August selling magazines. I ordered three years of Nick magazine for my kids and haven't received one yet. I called and spoke with someone there who assured me it would arrive before the end of December.

So I have lived in the same awful small noisy apartment for 5 years and want to move - badly. However, my company is in the process of being sold to another company, and my job will almost certainly be going away at some point in the next few months. But there is a nice severance policy which would give me over 10 months full salary if I am laid off, and I live in metro NYC which has a decent job market, and IT has taken a hit but I *should* be able to find another IT job in a reasonable amount of time. I have decided that this is where I want to stay for at least a few years so location isn't much of an issue (although buying a home then getting a new job somewhere and having to commute a long distance is a consideration). Lastly, the housing market is ripe for buying at this point.

Given all this, should I buy or wait until I find a new job?
