If you have say 3000 to invest, then is it more costly (in terms of Fund fees) to spread it across many funds vs buying only 1 fund.

Assume no minimums for Funds and assume they have same Yield before expense and all funds in one fund family.

My question essentially is do my COSTS necessarily go up if I own 2 funds vs only 1 fund--assuming all other considerations are same.

I have know those who owe significant amounts of taxes for past years unfiled returns (tens of thousands of dollars). They have settlement conferences and settle for cents on the dollar and start over. Isn't their short payments coming out of the pockets of all the rest of us Americans who routinely pay all our taxes due??? What kind of justice is that - guess we should all stop paying taxes and just settle when the time is right?????

well i was thinking about being a gourmet cook for my career, other than cooking, what skills does a person looking to do this need? and what schools are good?

I have researched setting up a 501(c)(3) non-profit which seems to be long and cumbersome. I was wondering how people seem to get set-up very quickly to collect tax-deductible contributions to assist others who unexpectedly have tragedies. Like "Mr. Johnson died last week. A tax-deductible contribution to his children can be made by sending a check to...."

There's no way that's a 501(c)(3) setup that quickly.

I am 20 with a new credit score. I would like to renovate my house, but I am not on the mortgage, because I choose not to be yet. Should I get on the mortgage deed, and then ask to refinance? I want to pay off some of my husbands bills. What should I do? I don't want to pay a hefty amount a month. Our mortgage is $95,423 left to pay and 866.43 a month. How much should I try to get to renovate and build?

We were given notice on Nov 1 that the rates were going to increase for our apt. Our lease is up on Dec.8th. According to our lease we must give 60 days notice of intent to move. Our lease also states that the apt. mgmt. would give us a reminder notice of renewal no less that 5 days and not more than 3 months. We did not recieve any such notice. The complex was bought out and the new mgmt is saying that was not their responsibility to inform. We are trying to give notice because we cannot afford the new rates. They will not let us go with just a 30 day notice and are saying that we would have to pay 1100.00 for the month of december (currently 750.00). We are arguing with the new mgmt. saying that we were not informed in a timely fashion. Do we have any recourse?

This is going to sound weird... but... lets say your credit card had a limit of, say, $3k, and you went $15k over that limit. I'm not talking about spending $15k on one purchase. I'm talking about making, for example, 30 $500 purchases all in one day. Are credit card companies fast enough to cancel the purchases that went over the limit? Mine doesn't seem to be, but I really don't know (Amazon Chase Visa card.) I know that you have to pay an over limit fee, but I don't mind that one time fee as I will be paying it all back the next month.

we have our home up for sale and have had quiet a few lookers. we spoke with someone who is very interested in the home and wants to get the ball rolling. they asked us to $5,000 off the asking price because they said they wanted the carpet replaced. the carpet is not brand new but in good condition. we steam clean it about twice a month. none of the other lookers had any complaints about it either. were thinking that they're only saying this because its the only excuse they could come up with for financial negotiations. we want to sell the home asap but don't want to settle for anything less then the asking price. we had a realtor look at it and she said that were selling it at a fair deal. no one else has made any offers on the house and this worries us also. does anyone have any solutions to this problem? any advice is appreciated!

ok i got home and went to my email. there was an email stating that i had one one million dollars . i was like what ever.but i decided to check it iut any ways. wouldnt you? it was from the uk. the were very descriptive of who sponsored it and how it was done. they said that they randomly drew from onemillion peoples email addresses. it says that i won first prize.they kept talking about wanting to transfer the money. at first i read it wrong and thought that they wanted a checking account # but i went back when i calmed down to re read it and no where did i find that they asked for an account#. it sounds so freaking legit. im freaking out people. its called a lottery program. is this legit? they even said that they set me up with a free lawyer to transact the funds. there is no where in this e mail asking for money or for me to do anything. im so freaking out. if this is fake , how dare they for getting my hopes up huh? what would you think?it sounds so legit.
