Since I do not have a permanent roof over my head, I would buy a piece of land and build a house of my design. this way for some bad luck, if I ever lost my job I do not have to worry about rent.

Why is it that because someone has $600 they think they must spend it even though there is nothing they need? Instead of spending it invest it. You can start with that amount of money at American Funds. They have many excellent funds with an initial investment of only $500 that have a long term returns of over 10% annually. Put your $600 into one of those funds and then add $25 a month. That is a lot better idea than blowing the money on something that you do not even need.

I would buy something that I could resell for more than $600 or put it in a CD if they have them that small - for a short period of time till I knew what I wanted to buy. If you dont need something, dont buy, just hold on to it, something is sure to break down, believe me!

Why buy anything if you aren't sure. There's plenty to buy with $600, spend some and save the reast for a rainy day.

Good grief ! Everyone better have at least that much and a whole lot more. I will spend my $600 on more stock.
Why not purchase things that ultimately make me more money!

Because, you don't know how to spend $600.00 for yourself. Please do not spend the money. Put the money side for emergency fund. In future when you need something badly you would be glad you have the $600.00 and +. You can put it in Emigrant Direct which give 5.02%APY now. Or you can invest the money in S&P 500 Index fund and forget about it for say, 5 or 10 Yeras.
