What are the best PR firms in DC? How can I get a start in PR?

Currently, I’m dissatisfied with the company I work for now and after I gradated college a year ago, it’s always been my dream to go into Public Relations or Communications. I’ve elected to take the initiative.

Good for you. My wife did PR and she learned a lot, moved up the "ladder" much faster than her compatriots in the advertising agencies and kicked my butt in terms of pay (and I was in Investment Banking!). Goes to show that you should "work smart, not hard".

Check out this website. It's got great leads in terms of leading PR firms and even has a search function if you want to find all the agencies in the DC area (including their phone number).

Then get your resume in order, spend the money on a new suit and makeup (you get paid as much as you look) and then smile & dial to try and get an interview as an entry-level associate position.

Good luck!

prepare early and prepare usually. i could get resumes out now with good conceal letters. It shows which you're inspired and which you're making plans forward. This seems wonderful to a perspective employer. i could additionally deliver out a 2nd batch of resumes in April. maximum employers will save the resumes on report for about 6 months. some would possibly no longer touch you at present, yet while they get yet another resume closer on your flow date, it particularly is going to coach save on with up and a real prefer to artwork for that employer.
