I have worked for the Social Security Administration for 20 years. I was deployed last year to FEMA to work in New Orleans following Hurrican Katrina and Rita. It was one of the most rewarding experiences in my life so I decided I wanted to make a career change and work With FEMA. Now I have the opportunity to work for FEMA. I need to make the decision to leave SSA and go to FEMA and I am suddenly afraid. I am praying for God's guidance in the matter but I don't think it matters to God which I choose. Either way I service the public by improving their quality of life. I know there is no one that can make this decision for me but can anyone offer any guidance on how I go about making the decision and what to do with the fear

I am 34 with a BS in Liberal Studies/Biology. I am thinking about switching careers, and I am highly interested in pursuing a career in the allied health field. I am particularly interested in nursing, nuclear medicine, sonography, and radiology (CAT scans and MRI). If you work in any of these professions, please tell why you chose that profession, pros/cons of job, beginning salaries, average salaries, opportunity for growth, any preferred medical specialities, as well as anything you wished you knew about the profession before you started, but have learned in the workplace or through experience. I have already checked out websites such as monster, american medical association...Thanks for the help and consideration!

Like when your younger like seven, one hundred dollars could buy so many things, but as you get older you barely flutter an eyelid, because you have to provide for yourself, and the things you want are more expensive, you understand the concept of having a job, paying the bills and buying a house. Than suddenely winning a million dollars doesn't seem like such a big deal, because you know your going to be taxed alot, you have bills and mortages to pay for, and in the end there isn't that much left, not even enough to retire on.

Your thoughts?
