I was wondering if someone can guide me in the proper form to buy for a Lis Pendens action I want to take against a home owner who will not return my deposit after I received a denial for my mortgage. It clearly states that it is refundabe but it is being withheld. The sellers said it took too long to notify them and are not returning my deposit. It should be noted that they were notified right after we were notified. I live in the State of New York. Any help regarding the proper form to use and form# would be appreciated.

I'm a senior and I'm graduating on May 2007. I'm still unsure of what I want to do in life. In 7th grade I wanted to become a teacher. I thought that that was my final decision then high school came. I changed my mind from teacher to fashion designer then back to teacher. Then I wanted to become a registered nurse. But I changed my mind to a pharmacist. Now, I am totally confused. I have no idea what I want to do. I'm creative and good at art and I'm also good at giving advice and helping people. I'd like to do something that would allow me to socialize with others. I don't want to do something monotonous or anything that requires chemistry or physics or literature/english. Something that involves history, biology, or pychology and no more than a 4-year degree I'd be interested in. Any suggestions?

If you are currently employeed and insured for you and your dependants and wish to quit your job and start your own business and buy private insurance somewhere else, can an insurance deny your application or coverage due to a preexisting condition? I know they used to but Im not sure if that is true since the insurance portability law passed a few years ago. Does this law apply to quitting and seeking alternative insurance as long as you do not let your coverage lapse?

I work at a hospital. The health insurance they carry is United. The new benefits just opened and said they are now accepting "Domestic Parnters" to be on the insurance. The catch-only homosexual domestic partners, not heterosexual. United offers domestic partners at another hospital and allows both hetero and homosexual. So is the one hospital discriminating? Would this be a case for a law suit? Or can employers discriminate who they want on their insurance? Any good lawyers out here with advice?

I got a letter from a collection agency dated 10/17/06 telling me about charges I owed from a phone I had in 2003. The charges are bogus because the account was paid. I'm disputing the charges, but I don't want the negative report on my credit report because I'm trying to buy a house right now. They haven't showed up as of yet even though the agency now appears as one of my creditors. Any ideas on how long it will take for the actual account to show up? Thanks!

I am grossly underpaid at my job for the position I hold. I want to find a new job so that I can earn the market rate (which is $20K-$30K more than I currently make). My problem is that companies will not offer me salaries with that big of a jump and they won't even make an offer unless they know my salary history. These companies also check up on things, so I can't just lie about it. How can I get paid market rates in this situation? I'm so frustrated.
