It'll all depends where you're from. I think $10 hour is fine. Visit your local university or college to post signs and you won't believe what college kids are willing to do for a couple of bucks. Offer free food or gas mileage insentives.

It really depends on where you are located, the age of your children, and what type of work you require, i.e., do you just want someone to watch the child/children, or someone to do household chores as well. Contact your county's labor department. They should be able to give you some information as to the going rate.

have you tried after school programs? Some pre-schools also offer after school care. A friend used a senior citizen in exchange for grocery and errand running around.

Depends on how many kids you have and whether its just watching the kids or also doing light housekeeping and cooking. I'd say approx. $10/hour.
