Looking to buy a house. Found one we really like but I'm having trouble getting past the water tower. It's about two blocks away and has the town's name written on the side. For some reason, it really bugs me. Maybe I'm being too picky. You tell me!

I say trust your gut. I agree with you... that would get old over a period of time seeing a water tower every day.

I tshuldn't decrease the value of your house two blocks away. However, if it drives you nuts, don't buy the house. Everytime you look at the damn thing you'll hate it. And you are NOT being too picky. You need to love the place you buy.

Unless it is a total eyesore I would worry about it... Can you see it from the inside of your house? If it's like a big pink elephant that no one in the whole town likes then you may want to reconsider purchasing the property.
