I got fired from my old job 2 months ago.(I was there 1 year) I had diagreaments with managment on certain issues and i refused to quit so they terminated me. I know got hired by a new employer. When the new employer asked why I explained that i was laid off. I did not want to say trhe word fired. They hired me . I gave them references from my previous job before the last one which I was at 15 years. They are now doing a credit and background check. They will not be calling my previous employer as I never gave them any numners but was curious if in my credit records or whatever records they get for a background check if they will somehow find out i was fired. Is there anywhere where that info can be gathered other than calling the employer themselves?? Little worried about starting this job and then getting let go before I even start.

My sisters boyfriend drives a tractor trailer. (On the road for days, then off, owns his own rig) She is going to go with him working in Jan. He is promising her a "large" piece of land with a ranch, and horses. Is this something that can be affordable with this type of job, or is he just giving her a line.

It seems I've got two possibilities. The first one is to live where I am now, namely a small village in the middle of the Dolomites in northern Italy and get a job that I don't like but with more chances to put money aside because there's no rent etc.The second one is a job that I might like in Milan but with the prospect of wasting a big part of my salary to pay the rent and all the very expensive life in Milan. What would you choose if you were in my shoes?

I'm 23 and I got my first credit card at 19. I use credit cards for the rewards and always pay off the balance in full. I have one mastercard and one visa.

My question is how much would it hurt my credit score to close the visa account in order to replace it with a different visa card with a better reward policy?

I don't forsee myself obtaining a loan or anything like that in the near future.

I graduated in accounting and finance then did CEMAP the qualification to be a nmortgage advisor but after evryone said it wasn't a good route top go down i went back to acccounting. I am currently studying for ACCA and I work for a small accounts practice. BUT its not me, i'm a bubbly, ambitous and energetic person. I love being challenged and i want to be in a work place with some life. i feel that in this sector i will not be successful because i'm bored of drawing up balance sheets and profit and Loss accounts everyday. Does anyone know of any other interesting career routes I can take with what i have?

The guys who used to run YouTube made no money out of the venture so why did Google buy it for so many millons of pounds? How are they going to make money out of it?

Furthermore now that are going to prevent people from posting videos that infringe copyright laws will that not prevent more people from posting clips on the site, and thus lead to less users. I really don't understand how Google are going to make money from buying YouTube?
