My sister and I are considering starting up a new venture and eventually opening up our own business. We both, for years, have been crafty and creative and she has her own line of bath products and I have my line of gift baskets and gifts in a jar. Do you have any advice or tips you might want to share? We are in the Central Valley in California and would have even thought about more or less Internet selling to begin with, but obviously we are pretty new to the retail selling part outside of bazaars and boutiques both locally as well as those we travel to. Any thoughts? Thank you much!

I have a client who has 2 grown children. These children gave thier dad, as a gift a house, free and clear. Well,... medical found out and said he owes them 150K. Now that I know this woman most likely ran a credit check on me to get into my personal business, is there any way I can prove that she did? For instance, is there a way of finding who's been requesting info or if someone requested info using my name within the last few months?

I know she could have pretended to be me.... she even pretended to be a man recently to get my bf's e-mail password! Gggrrrr....

She also made death threats to me, which I should have reported when it happened. So now I want to let someone know that she's making threats and getting access to all my personal info so that someone can possibly stop her from harassing me!

i know this is stupid, but i am tooo freaking nice and cannot say no. my friend just called me (best friend) and she wanted to know if i could do a quit claim. didnt really tell me everything but that she wanted to own something and i guess she's trying to get money out of her house but she doesnt have enough credit to do so or her credit score isnt good?? i dont know what is wrong with this girl. she says the house is in her name- if so why wouldnt she have credit???? anyways, i gave her my info..... what exactly is a quit claim and would it affect me in any way????
im scared now and believe me, i know i shouldnt have gave her my info.

I have heard talk that my company is creating a new position for Sub-contracting. I have ideas that I want to present to the Sr. VP but I have a director above me and a VP above him. This position is in another area. Should I run my ideas by my boss and his boss even though they will not be responsible for this new position or do I by-pass them? Any thought on this?

I've been working with my company for a year now and for my review- i was told that i may take a 1000.00 bonus in one lump sum or 11.57 raise. I'm currently making 10.57. What will they tax more and how much will be taken if i choose the bonus? I plan to leave my job in April due to maternity leave so some say the bonus would be the smarter choice. Thanks.

Sure, we have laws to protect the worker but everyone is so afraid of losing their security or being harassed on the job that very little is actually done to make the workplace better.
If a Dr. Pepper employee brings a Coke to work he is in danger of being fired on the spot.
If your boss screams, cusses and throws tantrums...sure you can complain about it but the big boss isn't going to do anything about it and the other employees who are also suffering from the same kine of abuse won't stand by you because they are too chickenshit.
When will we wake up?
